Being my favorite band, I hope he's not living there permanently.

I'm going to guess it's temporary. Maybe he's recording his next solo album with Billy Bragg and/or Elvis Costello. That would be amazing in my opinion.

Technically, being a vegan can be potentially dangerous if you don't include proper nutrients in your diet. The truly health conscious way to go is to have a well-balanced diet including animal protein. And a glass of red wine is heart healthy.

Well it's basically like this, if you're a vegan, and don't inlcude the essential amino acids in your diet daily, essential amino acids only found in animal and soy proteins, you're worse off than people who load up on saturated fats (which is a whole other problem). Now I say that becuse most vegans that I know just exlude meat from their diet and think it's healthy, but they don't eat soy products like they should. You can indeed live a healthy lifestyle a vegan, you should just know what you're doing.

i used to love anti-flag, but this turd at least has turned into a red white and blue cock. Not only did the most recent album suck compared to any other release, but the whole group spouts change in America and standing for what you believe in and then he fuckin MOVES OUT OF THE COUNTRY?!? why has no one commented on this obvious abandon ship manuever? So just run away if you can;t make a change. I guess the change they made was moving away...

You are so out of touch with reality its sad. When you are in a band that preaches the evil-ness of major corporations and then you become employed by one of those corporations it doesn't give you a whole lot of credibility. And when you proclaim to "love this country" and advocate a mass rebellion and then move to a different country you are a quitter. It has nothing to do with punks in general doing these things; if it was (almost) any other band it probably wouldn't (or, at least, shouldn't) be much of an issue.

No! Fuck it! I know the people on this site are full of shit most of the time, but this takes the cake. As far as I am concerned, this is an unreasonable, unjustifiable argument.

So I lived in a shitty small town for 16 years of my life. In the years before I left I wrote letters to the paper and the council on what they should do to change it. (My mum, who still lives there, does that now)

The point is that I fucked off as soon as I could get an apartment interstate.

Anyone who criticises somebody for moving to where they want to be is just a fucking dick! What dicks.

i feel like he abandoned OUR art community and is licking London's balls. I know we don't have strong art communities, but he could do good and build one here and play out in the street if that's what he really wants to do. I just feel like he specifically turned his back on me as a fan of 7 years.

Kerrang is flavour of the month, always has been. It's aimed at 14 year olds and gaining bands maximum exposure with the kids.

Kerrang only covers anything pertaining to ultra-metal dudes with stupid fucking plaited beards, flavour-of-the-week faux-emo bands, and Aiden. Recently they did an article on Against Me! which included lots of taglines about how "punk's not dead!?!?!?!" as if they were the only punk band on the planet and had only just been discovered like some sort of rare plant in some South American rainforest.

Oh, and it's a magazine designed for people who hate reading, any "article" will have at least a 3:1 ratio of pictures fo words.

what has he changed? being in a band and singing about how you oppose how things are does not constitute change. he's maybe raised awareness? did a cd and the benefits went to chris#2's charity or whatever. but i think he gives a pretty general view of matters. doesn't offer any useful advice for change. he's basically just a living punk cliche. most people are going to oppose the views and practices of a working government, that's just how it is. kids buy into his shit bc he has a "message" and it's put to hooky punk music. his outlook isn't any different than the next dissatisfied american citizen. what has he actually done to change things? sorry, i just can't stand him or anti-flag.

Love them or hate them, it's still important that someone's raising some semblance of awareness instead of writing yet another song about getting dumped by their girlfriend/boyfriend. A band or a single musician won't have all the answers to the world's ailments but at least they're trying to draw attention to a myriad of problems.
