Thoughts on Punk Rock love songs?

I'm in a couple of bands, and lately I just can't seem to write anything lyrically except love songs.

100% for them. If I don't want to hear you talking about how much something sucks then you might as well love something.

Just ask the entire Lookout! Records roster of the 1990's.

Dude, then write love songs and don't give a crap what the punx think. I'd much rather hear some sincere love songs than forced political/social/bro hymn chorus songs (and vice versa).

Of the many reasons I'm not in a band is because I can only write goofy joke shit about psychic monkeys and rubber suit monster movies. All my stuff about relationships is AWFUL. Like, new Weezer album awful. Stick to what you're good at.

Dude, that shtick ain't bad either... it worked for Boris the Sprinkler for several records. Nerf Herder isn't doing too bad either.

I like goofy songs too, if everybody sounded like Jawbreaker I would... never mind everybody should sound like Jawbreaker.

I had a grand vision, too. Ramones style songs played in minor keys so it would sound like Dead Kennedys.

I was working on a riff one time and a roommate asked me what Cramps song I was playing. This was not long before I decided to maybe not do it anymore.

Songs the Lord Taught Us was pretty righteous, too. I just don't like being surrounded by 50 year old women in fishnets who smell like balogna and SoCo.

it's just that i dont really listen to a lot of....punk rock love songs. I was just curious what peoples general thoughts are.

I think they'd fit in fine with Finch, just take the other 2 off the line-up, Scary Kids "We stole our name from a Cap'n Jazz song because we are cool" Scaring Kids and Tickle My Balls

alotta badmouthing here but i gotta say i'd be happy to see finch and foxy. finch is way underrated by you douchebags. say hell o to sunshine has some sick songs and very impressive parts. the drums got much better. and everything else too- not to mention nate's voice is fuckin nuts. beats me how he can scream and sing so strong and not lose his shit. foxy's pretty cool also
