Reel Big Fish teases "epic" new project

Long-running ska/punk/rock act Reel Big Fish are currently in the studio working on a new, vaguely described project. Prior to their upcoming run on the Warped Tour, the band is recording what they are calling:

A hush-hush, top secret project of epic proportions.

The band released their last album, Monkeys for Nothin' and the Chimps for Free, last year. The album was the band's first non-major label studio album in more than a decade.

There are some artists I hate, but I can understand why they're popular, either because its a pretty girl singer or they song has some hooks or whatever. Fuck the All American Rejects or U2, but I can understand why they move millions of units.

But goddamn, I will never understand what people see in Coldplay, Radiohead, Puff Daddy, Creed, Korn, Wilco, Marilyn Manson, Dizzee Rascal, Pearl Jam, or 311. They just sound insufferably bad to me.

dane cook is a fucktard. i found out the hard way who he was last summer. (i don't watch much tv or follow pop culture obviously). i was at a townie bar in a small beach town in nc.

some townie girl tapped me on the shoulder and said 'are you dane cook?????!!!'
i was like 'who's that'
a couple days later i googled him, saw a youtube video or two, and went in the bathroom and took a big shit. it was cathartic.

pretty much add all 'crunk' rappers to that list.

coldplay - somewhat embarrassingly, i liked them for a bit several years ago. some of that shit is pretty relaxing to listen to while reading a book or going to sleep on a bus/train/plane. however, last night i saw a commercial with them in it. i think it was an itunes or ipod commercial but anyway. holy fuck, they think they're fucking U2.

korn - seriously there are worse things out there, and jaded teenagers from the backwater need something to get angry to

wilco - a few of the songs are alright. but i can't stand the shit on the radio.

dizzee - dude is pretty fucking funny. yeah his beats are grating and his voice is weird, but there is some creativity there that i like.

pearl jam - well, pearl jam was the first band that really spoke to me, like 15 years ago or so. ten is a really great album, and s

That was "songwriting," not "endless noodling for drug addicts." (That goes for both the 'Head and the Deadheads.)

Also, anytime someone breaks out any of the following arguments, you automatically lose:

1) You can't criticize musicians unless you are one!
2) Let's see you plays scales super fast like Eddie Van Halen!
3) How many records have you sold, huh, chump? (Does this mean only Scott Stapp and Michael Jackson can criticize music?)

The Grateful Dead have absoultely NOTHING in common with the shit I listen to, unless you count all the swing/bop/hard bop jazz musicians I like that those dumbass hippies ripped off.

Pearl Jam (up through Vitalogy) is my biggest guilty pleasure. I have a strong hatred for 1990s alternative, but I thought they were great.

Eddie Vedder, though, says some pretty silly stuff and sometimes acts pretty pretentious, so I guess you can ask for your answers.

The Strangers is pretty suspenseful. I have had 2 people say they hated it, I loved it for the very reasons they named.
