Happy Independence Day!

Well, we celebrated Canada Day so now it's time to celebrate America's Independence Day. Before I say anything else, take a moment to scroll down the page and click the "Rock The Vote" banner and register to vote. Today celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

To that end, here's a quote from Thomas Jefferson:

I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.

In any case, to help you celebrate, we've got a song which will probably be the National Anthem by 2050. We've included the "karaoke" version so you can sing along

I flipped the tv to ESPN and they were airing the hot dog eating contest. It was like watching the Ocho. They were interviewing a kid with a mohawk who said he'd be listening to D4 while eating. Then at the beginning of the match one of the commentators said the contestants were attacking the hottdogs like Lindsey Lohan at a mini-bar. It was awesome.

I've traveled all over the world and, to be honest, America is not the best place to live by any stretch of the imagination. Do I "hate" America? No.......but it's just another country, and one with plenty of problems, especially given it's world status. America is not the greatest place to live, it's simply the most powerful and easy to target.
