Polysics detail US releases, double LP

Tokyo's Polysics have unveiled US release plans for their upcoming full length We Ate The Machine. The CD and digital version of the new record hits on September 30, 2008 via MySpace Records, with a vinyl version to precede it on August 26th. The vinyl will be a double LP featuring the new record as well as their 2007 full length Karate House.

We Ate The Machine was released in Japan this past April.

they're on that big list of artists on the asian man page. I think asian man distributed some of their stuff here.

I don't like double lps because I have to get up and change the side after every two songs. I actually listen to records, I don't consider them show pieces or collector's items.

i dont mind if it's got a lot of songs on it, like all systems go 2. but listening to potemkin city limits on vinyl is the worst. every 3 songs...

Nothing's worse though than a full-length album in the form of a 7" box-set. I saw "Hello Rockview" last year at this store near me, and thought "oh, seven 7-inches instead of one LP... cool", bought it, and then realized "what the fuck? I gotta either flip over the record or change the fucking record after every goddamn song!".

They're an amazing band live. Last time I saw them they were setting up when the DJ started playing a Devo track, the band started playing along with it and before you know it the audience were being treated to an impromptu cover before the set had even started.

Love this band, but i hate how confusing their releases are.
I didn't know they released a full-length in 2007, but checking out the tracklisting it seems like it's mostly made up of the songs previous american releases had that japan releases didn't. Throw in the fact that those songs were released 2 years earlier in Europe and you got a hell of a confusing discography.

You're probably thinking of Polysics or Die Vista - which is a 2nd pressing of the Polysics or Die greatest hits comp from 2004 with later hits added in. Karate House is a full length album with all new songs.

I was actually talking about the first polysics or die i got in february 2004. I havn't got the 2nd.
My copy of karate house i got yesterday has songs from polysics or die on it.

such a great band. their records aren't quite up to snuff with the live show but still enjoyable. hopefully this release means they will be touring here again
