Gaslight Anthem earned a review in the New York Times as they gear up for the release of their new full length, The '59 Sound, due out today.
Of some note is the opening of the article which makes reference to a article we posted on a particularly notable day. You can check it out here. In related news, video sharing website Moshcam has posted a live video stream of the Gaslight Anthem show from the Annandale Hotel, Sydney that was recorded last month. With a total of twenty-one songs up for streaming, it's a massive set to post online. You can view them all here. Side One Dummy Records (152 comments)

I can't wait to defend this band a year from now when they're signed to a major and Orgers have a tantrum. And I plan to unless they radically, radically change their sound. They're not a political band, they're not Anti-Flag, and I think their song-writing (like Bruce Springsteen's and Bob Dylan's before them) should be available to a large audience. 9+ Replies

Gaslight Anthem gets just enough coverage on this site for me to know I'd not like it if I heard it. 5+ Replies

I'm currently getting the Doozers to reinforce the supports under Moshcam to prepare for the influx of hits. 1+ Reply

Real good review actually. We all know this band will explode, but with who? People that read the New York Times, or people that listen to MTV? I can see way more "adults" liking Gaslight than I can see Paramore fans liking them. 7+ Replies

Their bassist sounds awful on his backing vocals in this. But I want to see this band live again so badly. Anybody else go to the Loved Ones show they played in New York a while back? 1+ Reply

Just saw a single copy of The '59 Sound in HMV. Would've picked it up were it not for the fact my pre-order copy should be here any day now! 1+ Reply

Hey, I was just wondering, who does more for artists, indie labels or major labels?

Honestly, I don't get the intense man-love that this band gets on here. They're pretty good, but not .org-asm worthy. 8+ Replies

I'm listening to No Knife right now. No Knife are better than Gaslight Anthem. 1+ Reply

I like the vibrato thing he's got going in the video of that Sydney set for some of the songs. It's not dissimilar to Jim Breuer's Goat Boy

These guys need to play some clubs in Canada for once. Sure they're playing with Rise against in a month and a half, but its $40 and im absolutely broke.

I'm glad their getting this recognition. It's also nice to see that .org hasn't jumped ship on them. 1+ Reply

It wasn't "Ole" that Fallon started playing right before the encore set.

ap.net got a guy named Fallon to review the album...needless to say he's feelin' proud
