Founders of F Yeah Fest and Videothing.com allegedly beaten by security guards

LA Weekly is reporting the founders of F Yeah Fest and music video site Videothing.com were allegedly beaten by security guards after a recent Radiohead show. The incident reported occurred while F Yeah Fest's Sean Carlson and Phil Hoelting were being filmed by Michael Reich of Videothing. The incident is currently under investigation by LA police. F Yeah Fest 5 took place this past weekend in Los Angeles, CA. It was curated by Carlson and Keith Morris of Black Flag / Circle Jerks. The event featured music by bands like No Age, Negative Approach, Fucked Up, Two Gallants and Ladyhawk.

And on a side note, that is really, really, really fucked up. My blood boils when I read shit like that. I hate cops, every single fucking one of them. I've never met a decent cop in my life, even friends of my family. And go figure, this guy I used to be best friends with, who turned into a total fucking asshole, is now joining the LAPD.

you two are totally missing the point. sean and phil are good guys who contribute to a scene that promotes fun, unity, all agedeness (yeah, i said it) and great punk rock. pretty balsy for somebody that lists choking victim as a favorite band to call out radiohead fans on taste in music.

The really fucked up part about this is that it doesn't sound like the security guards had jurisdiction outside the venue or at least that far away from it. So, all I can think about is the fact that guards just wanted to beat these guys that badly, and they knew they could get away with it. Bro mother fuckers.

you know. i waited in line forever and when we got to the front they wouldn't let my friend in because she had a camera. so we said fuck it. left, and drove to pomona to see hot water music. worth it i suppose.

my friend who got in, said it was so not worth it, and he got in for free. also, o pioneers were there with him and they agree with him completely. now the strike anywhere/ paint it black show on sunday put on by the same people is another story.
