Videos: Tom Gabel: "Conceptual Paths"

Tom Gabel of Against Me! has unveiled the fourth in a series of videos to coincide with tracks on his upcoming solo EP. The record is titled Heart Burns and is due out October 28, 2008. The videos represent tracks on the EP, but will feature live performances of those album tracks.

The video was shot by Jason Thrasher on August 26th, 2008 in Los Angeles ,CA.

i really hope the album is acoustic.. hes got electric versions of a couple of the songs on his myspace. by the sound of the videos, this shit should be good.

I've heard Cowards Sing At Night both acoustic and electric and I think I like the electric better. Has more of a Billy Bragg feel to it.

i'm 24 and after a shitty breakup went from 180 to 166 pounds. i've stopped losing weight but i am still a little flabby. how can i harden up my mid section. crunches seem to be working only real slow and really it's not that much. i drink a lot of beer. is my only option to quit all the booze. i do lots of running. 4 miles 5 times a week. any suggestions on how to stop this plateau i've hit and get a little more hard/lean?

There are more parts of the abs than you might realize. Crunches are only one part of an ab workout. Try looking on-line for more ab-exercises to do.

BTW, ab work outs will only build muscle, they won't burn fat, so if you've got a pot belly, don't expect to get a six-pack by just doing ab work outs. For the most part, you're just going to enlarge you're belly by working too hard on your centre, because the fat rests above the muscle. You're better off doing cardio/fat burning work outs than ab work outs if you're not already quite thin.

...this is what 5 years of high-school basketball got me. I now goto a college where frisbee is the number 1 sport. They don't care what kind of shape you're in...haha.

What you can do is look to portioning. Instead of eating one full meal, cut it in half and make two meals out of it but have them 5-6 times a day. If that takes up too much time, you could use meal replacements. You can buy them at GNC, they consist of a good proportion of carbs-fat-protein and are only about 350 calories. What eating small, portioned out meals will do is speed up your metabolism.

I also completely recommend weight lifting. This is also another activity that burns calories but will also help you keep any muscle you have without burning it (as long as your eating enough protein). When someone cuts down, they lose fat first but if someone is losing more than 2 lbs a week, muscle is also being lost. By working out and eating protein, you will limit your amount of muscle loss and build muscle in the future once you decide

Beer is a complete killer. I'm striving to be down to 10% body fat myself but beer has nothing but empty calories. I'm a college student so I know what it's like to have a drinking lifestyle. Cut to light beers like Bud Select. But honestly, I'd stick to hard liquor instead. It often has less calories than beer does and you get drunk faster. If liquor is your plan of attack, stay away from fruit-based liquors or sweet liquors (snapps, whisky, Baileys) and shoot for Vodka or Gin. If drinking, try not to add things like grenadine or juice. Those two are full of calories and carbs.

If you're completely sincere about it, cut off beer all together. Water is the best drink you can have. Not only does it hydrate you (great for flushing your system out) but it has absolutely no calories). Sodas and juices have many calories in them that people don't realize. You can also switch to eating lean meats like chicken, tuna, fish, or turkey instead of eating hotdogs and burgers.

Is it just me, or have the lyrics in these solo songs been ridiculously repetitive? The lines are pretty poor to begin with, I don't see why he needs to draw extra attention to them by repeating them over and over.
