Death By Stereo complete album

Death By Stereo have revealed the details of their long-awaited new studio album. Frontman Efrem Schulz mentioned in a recent interview that the album is now complete and will be titled Death Is My Only Friend. The record follows Death For Life which was released in 2005. Efrem also mentioned some additional details:

We recorded it with Jason Freese (Green Day) and Jay Baumgardner who has done just about every rad record under the sun! We are so pumped, it blows all the records we've ever done away!"

The new album is expected to drop sometime in 2009. It will not be released on the band's longtime home, Epitaph, however. The band are currently free agents. The group also recently announced some shows with Suicidal Tendencies in December.

Huh? These seem like typical comments to me. regardless of whether it's DBS with original members or a a Fallout Boy story, every second comment is usually off-topic.

But, uh, if it wasnt Fest weekend, then you'd get some more relevant posts, just from the higher quantity of people.

Except that the new album doesn't have the original members. Plus, the last album seemed to kind of pander towards emo-boy-metal type stuff. It's possible that this could be a really kickass record..... but I doubt it.

Billy Joel is alright... so is Bon Jovi (slippery when wet era) and Helmet is pretty good too.

But fucking P.O.D. and Godsmack??? ugghhh. I really hope this dude didn't fuck up this record too much.

i heard a new song at liskfest and it wasnt bad but it wasn't as magnificent as the first two albums or maybe even third, but from what i could tell i already like it more than anything on deathforlife.

If the record sucks blame the band. They aren't on a label so there is relatively no pressure from outside sources to go along with anything anybody tells them to do with this record. If it sucks - it's their fault. For either writing bad songs or not having the balls to stick up for their artistic expression. At the end of the day, hopefully nobody is talking about it being a shit record and everyone ends up loving it.

Yeah efram is the man. I actually like every album dbs has made but Death for Life is the one i play the least. I'm all for an artist making the music they love regardless of what people think, but that being said i hope the album is in a different direction from death for life.

I think I'm the only person here who not only liked Death For Life, but thought it was their all-around best work. I'm looking forward to this, since they seem to get better each time IMO. Plus their live show is great, lots of energy.
