Vinyl Collective streaming "Influences" series with Mustard Plug, Bomb The Music Industry, Look Mexi

Vinyl Collective has posted a stream featuring three of their splits in the Under the Influence series. The aim of the series is to feature bands covering tracks that have influenced their song writing and each edition will feature art by Mitch Clem of Nothing Nice to Say/My Stupid Life fame. Mitch is designed his artwork around the album art of the song being covered.

Bands involved include Mustard Plug, Bomb the Music Industry!, Whiskey and Co., Ninja Gun, Fake Problems and Look Mexico.

In no particular order, we are planning on putting out the following Under the Influence split 7″s. Please don’t email us asking when particular 7″s will be coming out, we will announce them in advance of each pre-order. Thanks for your interest in this series.

Actually, after thinking it wasn't happening, Virgil announced it WOULD be happening.

It'll probably be another version of "Only Babies Cry," but this time with egg shakers.

i picked up a 'delicious vinyl collective' shirt at the subhome booth at the fest flea market.

its printed on a grey american apparel shirt, and i'll be goddamned if it isnt the softest, most luxurious tshirt i own. it fits a little too metro, but i dont fucking care. it feels like effing cashmere.

i'm thinking about hitting up their stupid disgusting store in chinatown sometime soon to pick up some plain black and white tshirts. blasphemy be damned

this one fit my shoulders/upper arm pretty gay like (high cut on the sleeve) but i'm constantly told by every girl i've ever dated that i look super-gay anyway.

i try to explain to them 'if you want to see gay, go check out my boyfriend'

I hate American Apparel shirts. They're designed to fit scrawny hipsters with no built and little beer guts (aka, the Elmo). Unfortunately, being that I have broad shoulders they either choke the shit out of my arms or hand down like a fucking dress. So awkward.

agreed. my shoulders aren't that broad but i'm tall so i guess they're wider than the average persons and thus these shirts are essentially belly tops on me.

to avoid this i'd have to get like an XL but then i'd resemble one of those nu-skaters:

5.99 per 7" is a little steep, it's a great package though. Was there anything offered to get in on a 'subscription' kind of deal? If so, I totally missed that.

So, has the .org hit a new low in advertising? I just saw an ad for pizza hut. It just caught me by surprise I guess as I am accustomed to seeing mostly music related ads. Thought it was weird.

I think the org just outsoucres their adds to Indieclick.com, they determine the content. So Indieclick sold out. Also, I use adblock on firefox, shit is mad tight.
