10 Best Punk Rock Singers list

IGN has published another top list, this one featuring the "10 Great Punk Singers." The list includes David Vanian from The Damned, Joey Ramone from The Ramones, Greg Graffin from Bad Religion, Henry Rollins of Black Flag, Chad Price of ALL, H.R. from Bad Brains, Blake Schwarzenbach of Jawbreaker, John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon of Sex Pistols, Ari Katz of Lifetime and Glenn Danzig of The Misfits.

The list curiously omits some seemingly obvious choices though, like Joe Strummer, Jello Biafra and is bound to be a little controversial. Still the set includes the list of musicians as well as video performances from each and is worth checking out.

Tim has amazing pipes. I haven't heard them live but the dude from Polar Bear Club has a great baritone (which is rare for punk) when he sings.

Fat Mike should be on this list. He has one of the most perfect punk voices ever.

Other notable omisions: Ian MacKaye (Hello!!!!), Joey Cape, Jason Cruz, Tom Gabel, Matt Caughtran, Tim Barry and Brian Fallon.

gear of war 2 = blood gore 8-10 hours of SP game play MP is endless hours if you love MP
COD5= stick with CoD4
fallout 3= 100+ hours of gameplay if your stray away from the main quest and due side quests also different quest depending if your bad , in the between, or good
L4D= 4 player co-op needed plus it has zombies

I played the demo for left 4 dead last night, and I gotta say it is mind blowingly fun. I've almost beat Fallout 3 with 75% of the side missions done, which took around 40 hours. I'd go with left 4 dead.

Man I need to get one of these new systems, not really sure about any of these games, but I'm guessing they're all first person shooters since that's like the metalcore of the video game world. I'll continue to stick with my PS2 I guess.

gears was underwhelming, I havent played the mp yet, but I didnt care for the mp in the first one.

The l4d demo was a ton of fun, but I'm not sure on lasting replay value

fallout 3 stands out. havent tried any of the others, but seriously:

cod5 is more of the same (i'll play it, though, since i am obsessed with wwii)
gow2 - more of the same from the first. i'll play it since that was awesome, but after the above.
left 4 dead looks fucking cool. i'll be getting that soon too.

Burns is one of my favourites, the anger in his voice on Inflammable Material is superb, plus vocalists who sound like the eat sandpaper and glass are always better.

Naw brah, we get the extreme sports music station that plays "punk", rap and metal. It played some wicked Linkin Park this morning.

I do like the new 150 RawDog comedy though. And having a Bruce Springsteen station can't be a bad thing. Also, NBA (Go Pistons).

Backspin, the old school hip hop channel on sirius is gone too. Besides the garage and metal channels those were really the only music channels I listened to. If Breuer Unleashed isn't brought back this January I'll probably dump my SIrius subscription.

This list tries too hard to "keep it real". I'd take off H.R. and Johnny Rotten. As far as Rollins goes - are you fucking kidding me? I like Black Flag and his solo stuff, but I'm not sure I'd put him in the top 50, let alone 10. Unique does not equal the best (see: Biafra, Jello).

I also agree w/ the Milo for Chad substitutions mentioned.

Yeah that song has been on way too many of my mix tapes. I had one chance to see them in '95, but I couldn't go. Apparently they only played about 6 songs and had to stop for some reason. It still pisses me off though.

I really think Prop should start throwing a couple I Spy songs into their live set.

I understand currently he shouldn't be considered; but I remember Davey from AFI back in the mid 90's and he sounded great. When he lost the mic in the crowd he would continue to sing and still be perfectly audible over the guitar and drums.

The only one of my favourite singers to come from a punk band is Greg Graffin. Although, to be honest, Michael Graves is a great vocalist.

If Cursive counted as punk, I would add Tim Kasher, who has become amazing in the past few years.

Chad Price instead of Milo Aukerman? That's fucking retarded. While I have to admit, the Chad Price era was the best era of ALL, nothing compares to Milo Aukerman in the Descendents. Everything Sucks was originally suppose to be an ALL record. So, there are demo's of Chad Price singing most of the record. If you listen to both versions back to back, there's no competition.
