I don't worship Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Frank Miller, or any of the other deconstructionist primma donna writers that today's dwindling fan-man readership does.

Give me Stan Lee's Silver Surfer or Spider-Man ANY day of the week over that bullshit.

Alan Moore usually fails in the third act.

From Hell was great until the end. I didn't even make it halfway through V for Vendetta. And the Killing Joke was only so-so for me because he can't write Batman AT ALL.

One of the things I LOVED about the Dark Knight is that they made the Joker have no real origin. He works best when he's an agent of anarchy and chaos, and humanizing him takes away his power as a character.

Also, Batman would not stand there and laugh at one of the Joker's lame jokes before shrugging and hauling him off to jail. Batman doesn't laugh, and he punches first, asks questions later. Alan Moore didn't really get the characters or why they're perfect foils.

The ending page of the Killing Joke was open to interpretation. Some people think it means that Batman killed the Joker at the end, that's why they both went quiet.

i didnt really like david lloyd or eddie campbells artwork that much, but from hell and v for vendetta were both good stories. killing joke i liked, but its too short to have much of an impact.

i absolutely love his swamp thing stuff.

if there is a hot chick in watchmen, i will watch it.

Wow. Seriously, read it. I liked it okay when I first read it eight years ago. I'm rereading it now, and it is nothing short of amazing. I am not a fan of anything else Moore has done, and while Watchmen and Miller's Dark Knight Returns are directly responsible for years of "dark," troubled, violent, antihero crap, both books are some of the best comics ever written. Stop being reactionary.

I don't know about Moore's fanbase, but I can easily see your point on that subject.

I haven't read it either and probably won't see the movie, but mainly for lack of interest. I am just not that captivated by the idea.

But all of my favorite comics were in the mid-90s and I was never inclined to psychoanalyze characters or anything like that. Nor did I consider any of it "great art". That may put me at odds with comics readers today.
