Tours: Dropkick Murphys St. Paddy's Day tour

The Dropkick Murphys have announced the dates for their annual Saint Patrick's Day tour. The band will kick things off on the US west coast, starting in Los Angeles on February 20th. The band will play shows up the coast Seattle, then make their way east towards their hometown. Details on the Boston shows will follow next week.

The Murphys released The Meanest of Times in 2007.

I'm from NJ and that DKM show in Philly is on my 21st birthday... I would really like to go to a show that day but I'm not really a DKM kind of guy.

Well normally I wouldn't go period, like I said I'm not big into DKM. I'd rather see a band I like more but you know... likelihood of a show being that exact day in NYC/NJ/Philly that day besides this one isnt that high.

on march 12th & 13th, the pogues are playing roseland for their st. paddy shows. i'd go to that one instead (if you're into the pogues)

personally i don't like them or their fans but you really, really couldn't find a show that would be more fun for your 21st. i went last year to see hifi handgrenades open for them and i had a blast. if you are going to have fun (and NOT driving yourself) you could do much much worse. honestly the last thing you want to do is end up at some seedy strip club. actually that might be what you want to do, ignore me...

I honestly think, as much as DKM tours, the last time they played in Pittsburgh was in 2003. Early 2003. I don't understand the skippage all the time.

One of the consistantly great live bands out there right now. My favorite DKM stuff was with Mike McColgan anyway, so it made perfect sense that the Street Dogs would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I see them whenever I can, can't wait for the new album.

when I was in college, my roomate was a transfer student from Uzbekistan. His name was Dilshod. One day I was listening to the DKM's Cadence to Arms while he was in the shower, (we had a suite deal, where it was two rooms (two people each) with a bathroom in the middle). He came out of the shower saying...'Oh man you should have heard it was so great, your "punk rock" was combining with some music from the other room and it sounded so cool.' I explained to him it was all my song and he was abashed. When we first became roomates (this must have been fall of '99) he had literally just gotten off the plane from Uzbekistan, and he went out and bought a bunch of Backstreet Boys, N'sync, etc, CDs. I had to explain to him that while this might be what america exported as "cool," that he was actually missing the mark. Long story short, I never did get him in to any sort of
