Tours: Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem)

Brian Fallon, vocalist of New Jersey's Gaslight Anthem, has announced several upcoming acoustic solo performances on the East Coast. The shows come in the interim between The Gaslight Anthem's final tour dates of 2008 and their European tour, scheduled to begin in February, 2009.

Brian has also posted a solo track. He is promising more tracks over the winter season. Check out "Backstreets" on his myspace page.

The Gaslight Anthem released The '59 Sound in 2008. The album, so far, has made many year end lists.

I've always known "few" to be strictly 3. I also don't see a difference between "several" and a "handful"

1 = one, a, the
2 = couple
3 = few
4 - 8 = several, handful
9 = quite a few (a few times a few = quite (3 x 3 = 9))
10 - 11 = ten
12 = dozen
13+ = a plenty

I just don't know how I feel about solo projects, especially considering that he could easily write these songs with TGA.

But he didn't write that song...And the solo shows are during a touring break that the band is doing where he's mostly doing acoustic version's of TGA and covers. With some new ones, but who know's if they'll be "his" or TGA songs. Plus, Alex R. and Benny are playing some Spirow Agnew shows in this time as well, if they justifies anything.

I know he didn't write it, but his myspace says "gospel, soul, folk" which he accomplishes perfectly in TGA. He also says he plans on recording an album... I just don't see why he couldn't just get his band to make an acoustic album. Just my opinion.

Can't hear this until I get home, but as stoked as I am anytime this guy releases anything, I wish he would have waited a little longer before going solo. Hopefully it won't take anything away from Gaslight. In other new's, Spiro Agnew (feat. Alex R. and Benny) is also planning some shows.

Let's try this again:

I think I just had a brilliant idea. We should all choose one album that was reviewed in 2008 that's either a) TERRIBLE or b) very, very obscure, and EVERYONE should give it a 5-star rating. That way, when the "Punknews Albums Of 2008" is published, either Good Charlotte or some band from the sticks in Iowa (who can then use it in their promo materials) will take the cake.

I saw him play a couple songs solo after that Gaslight Anthem/American Steel show in Richmond a few months back. I thought he sounded great in that setting. Bring a solo show to Baltimore.
