Fuck it, that site picked "Lollipop" as a top 10 song of the year, they have nothing more to say.

Suck on that, Fueled By Ramen. They had zero "hits" this year, I'm stoked they're flopping.

Hell, I could have told you most of this before these albums even got released.

i've got a better list.

This article talks about how these big artists (Guns and Roses, Usher, ect.) aren't selling like they used to. Correct me if I am wrong but I didn't think anybody was selling like they were 5-10 years ago.

This list is ridiculous because NOTHING sells as much as it used to. You might as well call every major-label record released this year a flop.

I enjoyed Chinese Democracy for the mostpart. Rolling Stone ranked it in their Top 50 Albums of 2008, I think I'll listen to them before random guy from Cleveland

It pains me to stick up for this band but the crtique of Keane was ignorant at best. Band reinvents itself so it doesn't sound like coldplay and releases an album that essentially alienates its middle aged fan base. Lazy journalist slaps tag and critique on band that could have been relevant 5 years ago.

Well, people aren't buying albums anymore. Not to mention it's more then a little annoying to claim that number of albums sold means anything, at all.

What about Soulja Boy? He flopped so hard, even biggest flop lists dont include him.

I think too many of their assessments are based on album sales, which don't seem to take digital sales into account. I think most of the pop records on there would have looked less like flops if digital sales were taken into account. Chart positions are a slightly better indicator, but those are based on sales as well. At this stage in the industry game I think gross revenue vs. production cost is a better indicator of what "flops" or not.

Well they clearly haven't heard of this, worst song ever?

The record labels love high turn-over rates in the hit-maker department. PATD, Gym Class Heroes and Hinder are all out of the picture. Now the labels can strong-arm some up-and-coming suckas into a shitty contract to crap out a hit single. Then it all starts over again. |
