Underground Communique Records will be teaming up with Home of the Brave Records to release a split between Shot Baker and Serf Combat. The split will feature one new song from each band and a cover from the other band's home city (Chicago and London respectively).
The hope is that the bands will tour together later this summer. Underground Communiqué (12 comments)

I hope the Chicago one is a Screeching Weasel cover and the london one is The Clash, Damned, or Sex Pistols.

Shot Baker is one of the most under rated bands going today. I hope they cover a Weasel song ("My Right would be a perfect fit). Looking forward to the release no matter who they choose. 2+ Replies

Just got back from their show with Hot Water Music, Naked Raygun, and Copyrights.
I only caught the last 2 songs from The Copyrights due to always-bullshit Chicago traffic, and even though I've seen them like 49 times, I'm still pissed I missed 90% of their set... I love them boys. Shot Baker were phenomenal, but failed to play my (current) favorite song, "Short On Time". Regardless, great set. Hot Water Music were amazing as always. Their set was pretty heavy on Epitaph-era stuff, with only a small selection pre-2001. No worries, cuz all their shit is golden. Unfortunately didn't stay for Naked Raygun because my girlfriend was feeling like shit, and I like to try and please her when I could because I'm not that great of a boyfriend to begin with (insert funny comment about how YOU can please her here). And on th show rest of comment

Ha ha was just browsing and saw this! I'm sure it's OK to say what the covers are as Justin has posted them on the Underground Communique site... Shot Baker are doing a cover by The Proffessionals (post Sex Pistols members band circa 1980) and we (Serf Combat) will be doing a Bollweevils cover. Hopefully SB will be coming over to the UK later in 2009 for a joint tour and maybe someday we'll cross the water and visit the USA. I guess if you're into The Replacements, Samiam, Naked Raygun and all that you might dig us. | Features
