Tours: Amusement Parks on Fire

Amusement Parks on Fire have announced tour dates for the next few months. The shoegaze band is currently in their hometown of Nottingham recording material for their third album and follow up to Out of the Angeles.

I didn't go to a single amusement park this year. I love amusement parks too, so that makes me kind of sad. I haven't been to one since October of 2007 for the HalloScream thing at Kings Dominion.

Best amusement park? Cedar Point

I've always been a fan of Hershey Park solely on a nostalgic level. For all around best time it's gotta be Disney. Although, if your lookin for the thrill rides, Cedar Point is the place to go.

Yeah I haven't been to Hersey in at least 5 years, that's a good park though. When I was little that was the park where I rode my first ever roller coaster that had a loop (the Super Dooper Looper).

I'm big on roller coasters is the only reason I like Cedar Point a lot. Whenever they open a new roller coaster we go (last two times were for Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster)

I went to Disneyworld about 5 years ago and hated it, it was awesome when I was 6 though

its really sad that old-school amusement parks are on their way out.

coney island bit the dust this past year. but at least i got to make it out there twice in the past 24 months. that place is so awesome, so much character and fun.

i heard the pavillion in myrtle beach closed down recently too. i used to go there a lot when i lived there in the 80s and early 90s.

the corporate six-flags/disney/etc parks just don't do it for me. i want OLD wooden rollercoasters and ferris wheels, in the city, designed by geniuses with a pencil and paper, not computer-engineered smooth-riding, upside down rollercoasters with no history or character, in some weird town or suburb way off the beaten path.

I actually have a phobia of roller coasters (Andrea talked me into riding the Batman coaster at Six Flags and I almost had a complete mental shutdown), so probably any amusement park that has a good bar for me to hole up in while she goes and rides every damn coaster on the planet.

Out of the Angeles is an amazing record. Nothing like putting it on at night and just chillaxing to it.

also, having seen that the leicester gig involves 65DOS too, and is only a short train ride away from me, i may well be tempted!
