Tool member set to guest on next Isis album

Though few details are currently available, at least one member of Tool will be guesting on the forthcoming album from Isis. The band said as much via their official website:

Possibly at least one member of TOOL will be guest performing on the new ISIS album (recorded by "Evil" JOE BARESI).

Isis has been working on the album for the past few weeks and posted a studio video in December.

no, but i can describe some of it.

On SNL the replacements played a high energy rendition of "Bastards of Young," during which, Paul shouts "Motherfucker!" away from the mic. They returned for "Kiss Me On The Bus" in each other's clothes.

Yeah, I read about it earlier and really want to see it. It's what got them banned for life. I also wanna see when they invite Paul Westerberg back and he does Can't Hardly Wait with the show's horn section. Both performances sound awesome.

I did not like the last Isis album because it sounded too much like Tool. I hope this guy doesn't guest on the album, and if he does, I hope it's not obvious. The Red Sea and Oceanic are masterpieces.

one time i was having this party at my house and there was this really drunk redneck kid and we asked him what kind of music he wanted to hear and he screamed in a demonic voice "TOOOOOOOOLLLL!" and i was like no, they suck we dont have any tool. then in the same demonic voice he said "KID ROOOOOOOOCCCKKKK!!".

i think thats a good representation of the kind of people that listen to Tool.

Tool is one of my favorite bands of all time, for a variety of reasons, and I'm about as far from that kid you described as you can get.

However, I've been to a few of their shows, and the vast majority of their fans do seem to be like that kid so I guess generalizing Tool fans in that manner is probably not all that unwarranted. I just wanted to point out that there are some exceptions.

I saw tool live this past summer on a bag of mushrooms and it was amazing - drugs or no drugs. Tool is great.

Adam Jones has guested on some great stuff, however; that first Jelvins album has some of the most sinister guitar work ever featured on a "punk" album.
