Warner acts cover other Warner acts with Against Me!, Black Keys, Flaming Lips, Taking Back Sunday

Warner has announced plans to have their newer artists cover their older artists for a new compilation. For example, the Flaming Lips are covering Madonna, Against Me! is handling The Replacements, Black Keys will cover Captain Beefheart, Mastodon will tackle ZZ Top and Taking Back Sunday is covering Tom Petty.

The record is titled Covered: A Revolution in Sound and is due out February 24, 2009.

Yes, right on. Punch Drunk Love is so underrated. It is a fantastic movie. One of my favorites ever, actually. How this one gets overlooked so often is beyond me.

this guy seems to have the range and everything, but this totally lacks all the passion of the original...

This is great news! All of my favorite artists under the Warner Music Group Galaxy of Stars are performing songs by people I never heard of before. Perhaps I will one day check out these original artists and realize the great amount of talent they hold.

Kinda predictable that Against Me would do Replacements, but I'm cool with it. I wonder if they'll do a full band version or just acoustic.

I'm surprised it's listed as Against Me! and not Tom Gabel. I remember reading in an interview (probably one that was posted here) with Tom Gabel, that he said he recorded that song in the same session as Heart Burns. He said he didn't want to do it because Against Me! already did Bastards of Young, but if he hadn't recorded something by them, then they wouldn't be included in this collection. So he kind of did it to make sure the Replacements don't go ignored in a way.

I fucking hate T3. 2 is fantastic, and 1 is a decent action movie. One thing I can't stand is when they switch the actor playing the character each movie. That shit gets on my nerves. Either way, T3 blew in every way.

And like someone else said, Turner Classic Movies is where it's at now, in my opinion.

I'm 24 and after a shitty breakup went from 180 to 166 pounds. i've stopped losing weight but i am still a little flabby. how can i harden up my mid section. crunches seem to be working only real slow and really it's not that much. i drink a lot of beer. is my only option to quit all the booze. i do lots of running. 4 miles 5 times a week. any suggestions on how to stop this plateau i've hit and get a little more hard/lean?

so i graduated college may 3rd, been back home waiting to get into grad school ever since..funny thing is, i drink more now than i did in college, and i'm in a LOT smaller town than i was when i was in college. My school had over 40,000 students and i drank a shit ton..but i think i drink so much more now because there isn't much else to do here. I find myself sitting at the corner bar with a few of my buddys getting shitfaced

I used some of the $50 dollars my grandfather gave me for Christmas to get Teenage Bottlerocket - Warning Device, Texas Is The Reason - Do You Know Who You Are?, and Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy (finally getting in on the fun, finally).

Oh and my roommate got City And Colour's new album today, and I must say that it is quite a good folk record.

Also, since when did Best Buy start selling vinyl? I saw Coldplay and Metallica's new albums there for sale. Weird.

First to mention Missy Higgins.

I don't have anything interesting to say about her though.

I guess she's pretty good for pop music. Plus I enjoy almost any music with strong aussie accents.
