F*cked Up members debut new music

Fucked Up vocalist Pink Eyes debuted a new song about feminine hygiene products for a skit for MTV.com's newest comedy show MTV Detox. The video is region-locked, but you can check it out here if you're in the US.

In related news, Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook (No Warning, Marvelous Darlings) has posted some music from his newly released seven-inch as Young Governor. You can check out "Virginia Creeper" on his myspace page.

I don't think I "get" Fucked Up. Usually I just feel you like or dislike music, not "get" it, but I really feel for how people talk about this band there should be some sort of shinning revelation when you listen to them. I mean it's not bad but it's not the breakthrough, revolutionary hardcore everyone says it is (well to me at least).

Yeah, I get your stance totally. I haven't heard Chemistry yet but I listened to Hidden World a bit and it's good, just not, as you say, outstanding. That said, they were fucking sweet live when I saw them supporting Gallows.

Fucked Up live is where it is at. The Chemistry is a good album, three of the songs are fucking great (Black Albino Bones, Crooked Head, and Magic Word)

they are very annoyingly the hipster hardcore band of the moment, much like Pissed Jeans was a couple of years back. that band was fuckin great, btw.

Fucked Up are fun live and rather mediocre o record, at least i my opinion.

the lyrics are on another level, and there are songs that have riffs that make me squirm because they are so well-placed and simple yet so fresh

Their fans are very self righteous, much like Against Me fans were a couple years ago. Extremely, extremely annoying.

"You don't like Against Me/Fucked Up? Are you stupid? They're amazing, you're just not smart enough to get it."

I see the two bands taking a very, very similar path. The only difference is that Fucked Up at least have a couple songs I like.

Anchors Away. Probably my second favorite after Summer Vacation. Mad good tracks on that record.

It took me so long to get into the Gold Album, but I'm so glad I did. It's a lot of fun.

I'd got with either their s/t, or Maniacal Laughter.

honestly. from somebody with a souls tattoo. start with The Good, The Bad, and the Argyle and work your way up chronologically. You can skip Tie on One if you want but everything else is worth picking up.
