Millencolin have announced some US and Canadian shows as well as a European run in the next few months. They released Machine 15 in 2008

The only album I own by them is Life on a Plate and I like it a lot. I checked out their newer album though and it sucked. Do they have any other stuff that sounds like Life on a Plate or did they get all alternative after that?

Pennybridge is a transition album between their old and new sound, though, so there are a lot of slower tunes on that one. Here's the chronological order:

Same Old Tunes - Life on a Plate - For Monkeys - Pennybridge - Home from Home - Kingwood- Machine 15

There was also a rarities collection released after for Monkeys and Kingwood, while a new album has some really fast-paced and - in Millencolin terms - old-schoolish-songs.
As same old tunes suffers from its bad production and mediocre songwriting and singing, the logical next step for you would be life on a plate, I think.
Same old tunes has some hits as well, but overall it's not really their most enjoyable album.

Life on a Plate is the only one I have, and I like the faster-paced stuff, so I'll just go ahead and check out the first and next couple.

For Monkeys is very similar to Life on a Plate. Check that one out before Pennybridge.

Check out For Monkeys, then Pennybrige Pioneers, and then Same Old Tunes. And maybe Kingwood.

Their first three albums are all great (Tunes, Plate and For Monkeys). Pennybridge was the first album that had a major change in their sound. I hated it when it first came but eventually came to like it. I don't like any of the albums after Pennybridge

Yes, Machine 15 sucks. For Monkeys is pretty similar to Life On A Plate. Pennybridge Pioneers is more punk than ska but it is my favorite. Great band up until this new album.

I do like a few songs off of Home From Home. Botanic Mistress, Home From Home, Fuel To The Flame, and whatever the 2nd track's title is. Those ones are worth a listen.

Actually, my ex saw them a while ago touring for the new record and she said they played mostly old, classic tunes. So I think there's hope. I was bummed I didn't go as I figured they'd only play that shitty adult rock stuff.

it's actually going to be an awesome day. world baseball classic in the afternoon. millencolin and this is a standoff at night.
