On April 10th, before Against Me! leaves on tour with Off with Their Heads, Tom Gabel. Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio) and Brendan Kelly (The Lawrence Arms) will be performing together at Cafe 11 in St. Augustine, FL

The point is, the actual article says that Against Me! is touring with Off with their heads,Tom Gabel. Then in a second sentence it says that Brendan Kelley and Dan Andriano are playing a show together. Literally,with the period there, the two events aren't necessarily related. He was making fun of the punctuation.

There didn't use to be awesome shows here. Until I heard about the Fest, FL was devoid of any decent shows. Most bands still skip northern FL. I'd take Chicago over FL for shows.

No semicolon. The comma will suffice. It would be a semicolon if the first part was a full sentence, but it's not.

That is not correct at all. It was perfectly fine since the first part of that sentence could not stand alone as a complete thought.

No, I think badbrain is correct. Literally, I believe it is written out like Against Me! is going on tour with Off with Their Heads and Tom Gabel. Then the second sentence, in unrelated news, Dan and Brendan are playing a show.

Or did you mean that Tom would be playing said show as well? If you did, that period isn't necessary.
