Alkaline Trio launches remix contest

Alkaline Trio has launched a remix contest. The band explained:

The band is offering you the unique opportunity to collaborate and inject your energy on the song, "I Found Away." This is your chance to put your personal stamp on an exciting project with an established group. The winner of the contest will have their song added to the Alk3's discography and the track will be available for sale on the iTunes Music store!

To do so, the Trio is offering individual tracks (guitar, bass, synths and vocals) for remixers to use. Submissions will put up for a vote. You can find the details here.

Can you pick an easier subject for study in your thesis than Percy Bysshe Shelley? What is Blake going to say that hasn't already been rehashed 500 times? I thought the point of a thesis was to take an interesting, novel take on something that hasn't been over-studied.

Oh well. I guess Blake's taking the easy road through life. Still a spoiled brat. "Hey dad, can you come spring me? I got another DUI."

Fuck that guy.

I did my Phd thesis on Catcher in the Rye. It was titled "Catcher in the Rye greatest book or THE greatest book". In it I put all "great" books into a 100 gallon aquarium (empty of course) and let them fight it out to find the greatest off all. Turns out, a hungry goat, is the greatest of all books.

that was hypothetical, it didnt really happen. it seems you have trouble understanding things like that, for instance, Blake doesnt really "want to be a boat," its a metaphor. maybe thats why you inhibit such a hatred for him.

It's not the metaphors I have trouble with. It's the fact that they sound like high school poetry. And now the guy is allowed to teach creative writing to mongoloids.

this is really cool, but people will find a way to complain about it.

the only valid complaint i can see is charging for the song and then not giving the person who remixed it royalties. but we don't know the case yet.
