Stillborn Records has signed straight edge metal/hardcore outfit The World We Knew. The band recently finished recording a new 11 track album. The record is titled To The Wolves and is due out June 30, 2009.

Never heard of these guys and actually considered giving them a listen until I read that I could check out a song called "hellbound." Then I knew I had heard it a million times before.

Fuck these bands, I'm a straightedger but I can't stand this mutant metal shit. I love the youth crew stuff, 7 Seconds, Gorilla Biscuits, etc... and I love straight-up death metal (Cryptopsy, Necrophagist, etc.) but mixing them just sucks.

This is alright, but the "hardcore" part of the hybrid is a lot less than the metal. Although I bet people really into metal would disagree with me. |
