Gaslight Anthem recently covered The Replacements' classic, "Left of the Dial" for a free show in Boston, MA on St.Patrick's Day. Local paper The Boston Phoenix captured video of the performance and have made it available online.

I think they were all 11.99 each. Mastodon came with a 2 hour making of DVD.
Best Buy is usually cheap, they just rip off the bands and labels.

I pre-ordered Prototypes and Painkillers from Fat this morning. I think it was about $11 including shipping and tax. Not too shabby. And Fat usually gets it to you the Saturday before it's officially released.

I agree, there are usually only a couple songs at best that are worth holding on to. But I almost always play it beginning to end. This one has definitely stuck with me. Especially love the cover of "Here Comes a Regular" by Thomas of Strike Anywhere w/Rob Huddleston. I saw SA with the Souls last November and mentioned it to Thomas ... he seemed genuinely surprised (and flattered) that someone remembered it.

Don't get me wrong. The cover is fine. I love Gaslight's original stuff and they certainly didn't butcher it. I'm just sick of fucking hearing Springsteen and Replacements covers. I used to think the worst thing in the world was when someone tried to cover At the Drive-In - just because they'll never even come close to getting that level of energy - but I'm getting sick of seeing Bruce and Paul get musical blow jobs every other day the last year or two.

Anybody hear the old demo of "1930" (titled "You Coulda Raised the Titanic")? I just found it online, and it's pretty awesome. I don't think Brian Fallon is singing on the track, but I still love it. These guys are really amazing songwriters, and I hope they gain notoriety for it.
