Dinosaur Jr. give details on new album

Dinosaur Jr. have set a title and release date for their forthcoming debut for Jagjaguwar. The record is titled Farm and is due out June 23, 2009. It is their second post-reunion album and follow up to 2007's Beyond.

The album will feature original members, J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph. It was produced by Mascis and recorded in his Bisquiteen studio in Amherst, Massachusetts. You can check out the art on the release page.

Sometimes I don't get that attitude about chick celebreties.

Imagine yourself dating that girl and you bring her out in public. Would friends of yours go "Holy mule-face batman!" or would they probably go "Jesus! Talk about out of your league! Nice going dude!"

OK Org, I was hoping for some suggestions. Since I'm getting married next year, the girl and I talked and decided we want to make SOME sort of point about our support of full gay marriage rights (her extended family is from GA and mine is super waspy so there's more than our fair share of conservatives), but not in a way that detracts from the ceremony, at least not too much. Any suggestions?

I can drive from Baltimore to Atlanta (about 700 miles) for about $40 in gas. If gas prices stay the way they are, it might be cheaper to drive. And you'd have a place to stay, I'd see to that.

If you take pre-wedding photos before hand (of your and your future wife) that will be on display before the wedding and afterwards at the reception, have a few pages of pictures of non married gay couples with a small statement that says something like: "We hope that one day all these couples can enjoy marriage like we will."

Also, if you know any gay couples you could invite them and ask them to feel free to be themselves.

These ideas aren't great, but maybe I'll think of better ones later.

You could still do a ceremony and reception and have a civil union in the eyes of your state government.

Also, very cool of you to want to make a statement this way, but anything you do decide on should be brought up to any gay friends going to the wedding. While I personally think it's a nice gesture, other gay couples may see it as rubbing their nose in it.

We do have a number of LBGTQ friends, so this is a good suggestion. It's not my intention to rub my legal rights in the face of those who are unfairly denided them. I know it's a very touchy, nuanced topic and I know I'm not the most sensitive guy in the world, so I'm treading lightly until we've figured things out.

I think it's awesome that you would make a stand at your own wedding.

You could wear a rainbow boutenier, and she can wear a rainbow garter belt. If that does not fly, you could always get some rainbow buttons and put then on the table as part of the centrepeice.

I brought up our families in order to show that it wasn't just us preaching to the converted. If we change even one mind about whose love is legitimate than it'll honestly be worth it.

I was thinking of a rainbow tie. (We're getting married outdoors in early fall in Georgia, so a full on tux will reduce me to one big pile of flopsweat - suit is where it's at.)
