Videos: Crystal Antlers: "Andrew"

New Touch and Go Records act Crystal Antlers have posted the new video from their forthcoming full length, Tentacles. The record is due out April 7, 2009 and the video was directed by Michael Reich (Videothing.com) and will tie-in to a feature film that the band will be releasing later this year. Everything here was shot using a Canon 5D Mark 2 still Camera while the band and crew were just recently on tour in Europe.

After 5 years, the lady said that I need to stop drinking. Not stop entirely, but not the way I have been. Chalk it up to stress, but this week was some shit. So I go out last night to her friends place, have a few beers, then say I'm tired. On the way home I snagged a pint of whiskey from the corner store, got home, ordered a pizza and chilled out. Apparently the lady came home, I was passed out with the bottle in my hand on the couch. She the proceeds to wake me up, yell at me, then pour the rest of the bottle down the sink in the kitchen. Bogus. I don't drink every day, I'd probably say 4 days a week, and even then it's like 4 beers at the bar with the fellas.

I just looked at the line up for San Antonio Warped Tour and confirmed to myself that I will not attend for the 3rd or 4th year in a row. $40 for a blazing sun to see a 20-25 minute Bad Religion set and a couple other bands that I'm a small fan of and pay $10 for a pint of water is just not worth it. Although that lemonade is priceless! So good.

Wait.... so you're just now realizing that Warped Tour is a huge, overpriced waste of time? Well I guess this is growing up.

If you are coming to San Antonio during the summer, go check out a show at either Rock Bottom, Jiggers, Warhol, hell even the White Rabbit (white ripoff, to us locals). It will cost you $8, tops. And you can spend those other 40 dollars on beer, hookers, or whatever floats your boat.

Well obviously I know it's pretty shitty. But every year for some reason, I have hope that there will be 6 or 7 bands that I really dig. I've been to the Warhol and Rabbit. Didn't someone get stabbed at the Warhol recently? Not that that would make me not go, but I think I remember hearing that. And your a liar if you didn't sing "Well I guess this is growing up" to the tune of Damnit.

Ya, man. I hear you on hoping and holding out for better bands, but it seems like those days of a solid lineup are long gone. The stabbing happened next door to the Warhol, at Rock Bottom during a Lower Class Brats show.

Oh, and yea, Dammit was definitely what I had in mind. Didn't mean to come across as snarky. There should be some great shows this summer in SA. Hope you can make it up to the Alamo City! I will buy you a beer if you do.
