Can't say I was too impressed with the 30 second clips. I will still purchase the disc though. Alot of the times 30 seconds isn't enough time to appreciate a song. I hear some Bad Religion influence circa their major label days in these songs. Definately not as fast paced as your typical NOFX record.

Well I agree with you on the first three. River Park is ok with me, cause it gives people another option, plus I like Borders. I'm just tired of people shitting on Fresno, it isn't that goddamn bad (you could be in Madera, Dos Palos or some hell like that). I split time between Fresno and LA, and I wouldn't mind Fresno is if wasn't 110 in the summer.

Show wise, yes Fresno is horrible. Any punk/ska bands will not draw, ever....I've seen bands come through once and never again. If you're a flavor of the week band, you'll be fine, but I'm sure you know that. I've seen 6 people at a Slackers show, 12 at Murder By Death, and countless other disappointments.

Shafter? hehe, driven through but never had the pleasure of stopping. When I travel back and forth, I stop to piss in Bakersfield, and keep on going....

I listened to "The Quitter" a couple times, but I'm trying real hard to avoid anything on this album until I have the cd in my hands. Hearing all the previously released songs on wolves before wolves came out, kinda ruined that record.

I'm mostly buying this album because I like the artwork. Also to fuel my ocd since I've bought every NOFX album when it came out just because. I think the only time I listened to Wolves was on the drive home from the store. They're one of my nostalgia bands

I was dissapointed with Russ' version.

Not bad at all... Looking forward to it. 30 seconds of each song is just enough to not quite ruin it! Seeing them in London the week this comes out, better listen to it plenty to know the new songs they'll be playin'. I'd be happy with a whole night of repeated Green Corn though.

Listened to this album in it's entirety yesterday. This is the best, most straight forward punk record these guys have done since "So Long, And Thanks...". It truly is a great record.

I think the problem, which a lot of fatwreck bands such as the lawrence arms and lagwagon have , is relying on vocals for the melody. Besides that I thought my orphan year was pretty good and I am an alchoholic was pretty decent.

I wish everyone in the world could be forced to sit down and watch that movie.

I think many people know how bad animals are treated and just choose to consciously ignore it and not feel bad about it. I could see these same people finding ways to not be affected by the movie, such as by claiming that the events on the screen are rare and don't happen that often etc.

I think it would help. But, yes there are people who refuse to even consider changing their eating habits.

I watched that movie with a friend who eats meat and he still eats meat. However he is very educated about the truth and has actually cut down on his meat consumption and often buys veggie burgers and vegetarian meals (also due to the fact that he knows meat is not that good for you).

If it got people to at least cut down on their meat eating, then it could still make a huge difference.

Yeah, I bet more people would be inclined to cut back as opposed to going vegetarian right off the back.

I'm hesitant to push it on anyone I know though. As of yet, I've stayed away from even having conversations about being a vegetarian, much less trying to get someone else to be that way too. It's just too obvious (how terribly animals are treated) to argue with people about it. I can't stand dealing with idiots for a long enough time it takes to have the full, objective discussion. And even if they agree that animals are treated like shit, that's a far step from them swearing off eating meat.

To be clear, as I think we differ on this, I don't mind having to kill an animal to eat it. It's the way they are treated that makes eating them intolerable.

I've always said that if animals were still hunted in the wild like they used to, then I'd be much less opposed to eating meat. At least then the animal would get to live it's life normally before it's killed.
Of course with the high demand for meat, there is no way we will ever get rid of factory farming and as long as the meat needs to be mass produced then the animals will be treated like a product instead of a living being.

"So, you're vegetarian... but you eat fish right?"
If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that I'd have about $50.
