This Is Hardcore Fest 2009 announce lineup

The initial lineup has been announced for the 4th annual This Is Hardcore Fest. The shows will take place at Starlight Ballroom/ Club Polaris in Philadelphia, PA on August 14th, 15th and 16th.

The bill will feature Bane, Bitter End, Blacklisted, Cold World, Cruel Hand, Giving Chase, Have Heart, Hoods, Know the Score, Let Down, Pulling Teeth, Reach the Sky, Shipwreck, Suicide File, The Carrier, The Killer, Bad Seed, Convicted, Cut It Out, Floorpunch, Forcefed, Guns Up, Mindset, Mother of Mercy, My Turn to Win, Naysayer, Reign Supreme, Strength for a Reason, The Mongoloids, Until the End and Wisdom In Chains.

Tickets are expected to go on sale in June.

i listen to hardcore pretty often, actually. I also used to post on b9 so, im surprised im not the one mauled with hardcore comments.

There are some cool bands playing the warped tour this year. Less Than Jake, NOFX, Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, Streetlight Manifesto... and probably others. But Underoath is playing. So I guess it cancels everything else out. Should I go anyway?

Thrice is my second favorite band of all time. But I'm considering not going. But then again since its warped tour, maybe they'll play older stuff? I still dig the new stuff, but I don't want to spend $50 to stand.

even though i like the new stuff as well, i would like to hear them play older stuff. it just fits that environment more. but a set from thrice with new stuff is still better than 99.9% of the bands playing.

Reach the Sky already did at least 2 other reunion shows this year. i would love to see them but this fest just seems a little to lackluster for me to go through all the trouble to go to it, when i won't even attempt to go to ones that seem more exciting, like No Way Fest or Sound and Fury.

Still pales in comparison to what Hellfest used be in New Jersey. I was ready to buy plane tickets for it's last year with the Lifetime reunion until it canceled.
