Alan Moore (Watchmen), Mike Patton, Justin Broaderick in new project

Legendary British comic author Alan Moore (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, Swamp Thing, Batman) is collaborating with Mike Patton of Faith No More, Tomahawk, Mr.Bungle and Justin Broaderick of Jesu and Godflesh on a new multimedia project, reports Billboard.

Moore has already recorded the two-hour audio book for the deluxe package of the semi-autobiographical work, which is likely too appear in early 2010. The score that accompanies the book is being worked on by Andrew Broder of alternative act Fog and spoken word artist Adam Drucker. Brown says musicians in the frame to provide key elements of the soundtrack include Patton and Broadrick,.

never seen it. i stopped watching their films after i saw a couple and didnt like them.

Peeping Tom was pretty good though but, that was just Powell.

Yeah, Powell's solo stuff was smaller, less grandiose. And Red Shoes is awesome, son.

im gonna have to disagree, sir. i liked the ending but, it just wasnt for me i guess. i havent seen anything by them that impressed me.

Check out Black Narcissus. Jack Cardiff's cinematography in it is generally considered to be one the greatest among cinematographers.

It's the exact opposite of Coutard's most notable work...but probably influenced him for Woman is a Woman and Contempt, for sure.

Daniel Clowes really needs to release something new. It seems like forever since the last issue of Eightball came out. Mister Wonderful was pretty darn great though.

agreed. i loooove his run, even though the sixth book kinda feels like he was bored of writing it by then. i'm actually reading the rick veitch run which followed alan's right now. much better than people give it credit for.

i agree, the earlier issues of the run were definitely the best.

what is the veitch run like? i've heard the whole controversy about the never-released jesus issue but i've never actually read any of the run.

well, i'm only about halfway through spontaneous generation right now, but it seems he has a really firm grasp on the plot. he stumbles here and there with the details(for instance when john says, "Right" it's spelled "Roit" haha), but he does an admirable job, i think, with the narrative and his time spent working with alan on the title is definitely noticeable in a good way.

Have you seen them live? I missed their last tour here (with Isis I believe) but I'd really like to.

Yeah I saw them (him?) a while ago. It was pretty good. Nothing fantastic to report. I'd see them again in a heartbeat though.

i like them on record, but live they were mind-numbingly boring. minus points for half the instruments being on his laptop.

Oh, that sucks... Did he have the other guy with him? Can't remember who i read was playing with him.

I was grateful that both times I saw Godflesh they had a live drummer. I assume they probably always toured that way though.

it was justin plus a bassist and drummer and then about a thousand more guitars on the laptop.

i've definitely seen footage of godflesh playing live as a two-piece. that's insane that you got to see them, let alone twice.

Wow, you're not kidding. Like a minute into Vultures Descend and I already dig it. Do you like the new Tombs record? Some of their stuff reminds me of Godflesh in places, only more aggressive (at least on the new album).
