Tours: Brand New

Brand New has announced a short run of small club dates around the U.S. in July. No word on openers yet, while the band promises these will be their only U.S. shows of the summer.

Prior to this, they'll head over to the UK in June with Moneen. Their long-awaited new album is rumored for a summer release, following on 2006's acclaimed The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.

Subterranean fits 400 people, last time they were here they sold out a 1,300 capacity place while competing with Lollapalooza. This is going to be nuts. I bet they're playing their new album all the way through or something.

Brand New and Fake Problems and Ninja Gun within 5 days of eachother? Wowee zowee!!! I love, love this band. I totally geek out for them. They get better with every release. I don't care if they're "scene" or not, Jesse Lacey is one awesome dude, and definitely one of the best songwriters I've ever heard.

In my book, Jesse is the definition of cool. Just an opinion, but at least it's my own. I honestly see him as sorta the Marlon Brando or James Dean of my era. But that's just me. Like I said, I geek out.

Yeah. I remember going to a few "sold out" shows that I could have guessed had 400 or more people squished in there though. With guest list and all that jazz you get an extra 50 or so people than tickets sold. This would be better at Beachland, and even that is "small."

I think miller lite is a little watery but bud light is a little bitter. miller wins for me. Also I think it's the lightest before you get in to like mich ultra or whatever. The fewer calories and bloatedness the better. I can drink 12 of em, be well enough trashed, but wake up feeling like a daisy.

I used to rather smoke weed too. I used to be a huge pothead. I would go on these long diatribes to my friends about how getting high was so much better than getting drunk. I still appreciate weed but I find myself being less enamored with it the older I get.

I drive my friend to tampa (2 hour ride) in the morning to catch a flight. 3/4ths of the way there, massive construction or accident or something and traffic is at a standstill. After an hour of this i'm like 'shit we ain't gonna make it" I try to hit the side roads but we get there just at takeoff time. We have to reschedule for a evening flight. Long story short we had 7 hours to kill and we saw the movie. It was pretty good but I was kindof confused at some parts.

my mom started feeding this stray cat a couple years ago and she had babies and they were in boats and trees and finally she brought them over to our house, but because a couple people were gone on vacation for weeks at a time they got it in their heads that hiding up in the body of a car was the best idea. I didn't take my car to work for a week because you couldn't find them all and you couldn't be sure one wasn't in your car. My brother one day looks all over and thinks there is no cat up in his truck and he starts to back up and hears a loud "THUD" and his heart stops and he finds one up by his fan belt and it's eye is fucked up and after that we are like "shit we gotta do somthing" so we catch them, and the one that got hurt on his eye, it turned out to be above his eye and not a huge deal. I went to investigate, but it was just some car's headlights somehow shining down there from a parking lot kind of far away. I had a flashlight and everything. I was expecting something extreme or paranormal. So that was a disappointment.

Now I'm about to watch a third movie. Good night overall I guess.

So this one time, I was really bored, and then I got into a fistfight with a drunk outside of Portland. Dude had long hair and was racist like no other, so I punched him in the ear. The funny thing is, his ear started bleeding alcohol, so I licked his face. He tasted like racist asshole. Then I smoked a bowl with this homeless dude who had my back apparently, but never saw the need to involve himself between blows. He had some good stuff, and it turned out to be mushrooms. Mushrooms are fun sometimes, but not when you throw your phone in the river on accident. I jumped in and swam after it, but because I was on mushrooms, I didn't realize I was really swimming on the floor of this dude's garage, which was funny because he was homeless. So we laughed and drank another beer.
