Atlantic Records resurrects Elektra with FBR co-founder

Atlantic Records has announced plans to relaunch their famous Elektra Records imprint which effectively shutdown in 2004. The newly launched label will be co-run by Fueled By Ramen co-founder John Janick and Atlantic EVP of A&R Mike Caren.

The new label is promising some new signings, but the first three releases will be more well known releases. The first album released on Elektra was the soundtrack for the HBO show "True Blood," which dropped on May 19. The company's next release will be the U.S. debut of U.K. dance artist Little Boots, whose EP "Illuminations" is scheduled for release on June 9. Elektra has also signed French electronic duo Justice, and rapper Cee-Lo.

Elektra's original catalogue included The Afghan Whigs, Billy Bragg, The Cure, Metallica and many others.

People in general are fucking mindless.
The most popular thing in our culture is a dark force ridiculously known as Speidi.
Someone with power and nuclear arms is going to say "fuck it" and nuke the world on his deathbed.
Nickelback.
Everything about MTV.
Shows like Arrested Development get canned, House of Payne is still on.
The whole machismo male thing, possibly the main cause of homophobia.
Racism is still alive and well.

Just thought I'd get some things off my chest.

I don't know what speidi is, but the game star wars: dark forces fucking rules. Aeon Flux got cancelled, by MTV, so double wrong. Overall, the wrongs outweigh the rights in my opinion. The guy on his deathbed might have the right idea.
