The Offspring post video tour announcement

The Offspring have posted a video tour announcement announcing their summer tour with Alkaline Trio, Street Dogs, Shiny Toy Guns, Sum 41, Pennywise and Dropkick Murphys. The band went with an elaborate presidential address style announcement for the tour which will support Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace.

totally...luckily here in Milwaukee Dropkick is playing at the same time as the Offspring on a different stage so I can cut out that part of this tour...

Yeah I've never liked the Offspring, but I'm actually a big Dropkick Murphys fan, I just don't like the douches that they draw in at their shows

I was thinking that too cuz it could be read as "ah! ah!" or "a! hah!" I dunno why there would be punctuation in the middle of a proper name but I'm not complaining.

This is seriously what is wrong with this site.

Hundreds of hard working bands toil tirelessly to book and promote their DIY tours, and yet this video makes headlines on here. Most of the tour this video is promoting is ALREADY OVER.

Who in the hell deems this 'news-worthy'?!?

steve makes two valid points here:

1) the content on the site is user submitted largely so content shows up that people on the site are interested in informing others about. You know of great tours and albums from DIY bands? submit them as news.

2) that alex101 person submits this kind of news, major label stuff.

I've been listening to more 21CB. I think it has two problems: (1) songs are too vocal-driven and the vocals are far too fucking high in the mix, which is a return to the 1,039 days and a break from much of what I loved about the band's music; and (2) the production is absolutely shit. It has this "wall of sound" thing which uses thousands of overdubs to mask anything the band might be doing with their instruments. Butch should've listened to more Insomniac. That is how GD should be produced - a "heavy" sound, but crisp bass dynamics and chord progressions. I dunno - there may have been some good songs on here, but if they were there, the production fucking killed them off.

I just saw them in Denver last week.

The Offspring were so fucking awful. I left after the first song.

There were so many pregnant bitches there too, or they were just fat.

The Vandals played though! And totally fucking ruled!
