Media: Coalesce: 'Ox'

Coalesce has a full album stream of their new full length, Ox. The album is their first record in ten years. The veteran hardcore/noise band will be releasing their album on June 9, 2009 in North America and June 15, 2009 everywhere else. The album was recorded with Ed Rose at Blacklodge Studios and is the band's first new full length since reuniting in 2007. Since then, the band released a new 7-inch, Salt and Passage, and reissued 012:2.

I don't like their screaming style. I like high pitched much better.

gotta disagree. i generally can't stand high pitched screams... probably part of the reason i can't stand a lot of 90s screamo stuff

All I know is that I'm going to be spending more money next week on new albums more than I expected to. I know one store in town that wiill have this.

I've listened to the entire stream, and this record is really pretty great. There are a few weak spots, but overall it still has that energy and tension that makes Coalesce such a good band. The more experimental parts on the album really work well too; it really makes Ox stand out from the other records. I'm sold on this one, and it will probably be one of the best of the year.

i'm not going to play it till i can go to the store and buy it on tuesday, but christ i'm excited for this. if it's anything like the last 7", it'll probably be my album of the year.

I've only listened to 2 songs so far, but this sounds just as good as (if not better than) their other material. Can't wait to check it out in full this weekend. Also, I'll agree that they're one of the only hardcore bands I can listen to, along with Botch and that's about it. I don't even really like Narrows much. The music's too straightforward.
