Dirtnap Records signs Something Fierce

Dirtnap Records has announced the signing of Houston, TX trio Something Fierce. The label is planning a vinyl reissue of the band's recent full-length, There Are No Answers, and the band expects to have a new LP out for Dirtnap in early 2010. Pre-orders for the vinyl can be accessed here.

One of my best friends came out to me last night. I knew all along. The "Fierce" thing reminded me of this.

Seriously, good for him though. I can't imagine how difficult that would be in most cases.

A few months ago, one of my friends told me he was gay but he doesn't know what to do because he is a fundamentalist Christian. Is that sad or what? He's gay and he still wants to think that being gay is a sin and a choice... I can't believe the inhumane brainwashing that goes on these days. It's sickening.

Yeah, this guy is way into religion too, but he's dealing with it really well. He said something like "I'm Christian and I'm gay, but only one of those is a choice." As a Catholic-raised bisexual, that made me really happy.

I am blowing my load over this so hard right now. Man, this rules. I can't remember the last time I fell for a band so immediately, and now I can't wait to jam this in my car on the way to work all the time.
