I cannot for the life of me understand why Propagandhi would not be at least on the long list. Total bullshit.

Ben_Conoley (June 15, 2009)

They didn't get enough votes. Understand?

usversusthem (June 16, 2009)

...no?

*sad, whimpery face*

What kind of a world do we live in where Supporting Caste doesn't get enough votes? Man.

Grue (June 16, 2009)

I think it just didn't have enough, um, support.

*groan*

MN_punkmaster-skaman (June 15, 2009)

I need to go get my tickets for the Propagandhi / Strike Anywhere / Banner Pilot show tomorrow night. I better see a story about Against Me! and George Rebello when I get back!

badbrain (June 15, 2009)

name (June 15, 2009)

Here's my ten:

Arkells - Jackson Square
Bruce Peninsula - A Mountain Is A Mouth
Elliott Brood - Mountain Meadows
Fucked Up - The Chemistry Of Common Life
Great Lake Swimmers - Lost Channels
Handsome Furs - Face Control
K'NAAN - Troubadour
Japandroids - Post-Nothing
Joel Plaskett - Three
Chad VanGaalen - Soft Airplane

Ben_Conoley (June 15, 2009)

What do you guys think? I've gotta pick a new top 5 out of these ones. For the record, my top 5 going into the long list were:
#1 = Fucked Up - The Chemistry of Common Life
#2 = Joel Plaskett - Three
#3 = K'NAAN - Troubadour
#4 = One Hundred Dollars - Forest of Tears
#5 = The Stills - Oceans WIll Rise

Although I really wanted to see Andrew Vincent on there. Don't know why he slipped my mind.

andrewking (June 16, 2009)

I can get behind your top 5, though I'd substitute Jackson Square for Forest Of Tears (only because I haven't spun the latter).

I think last year's long list had more diversity and all-around better albums, though. Either way you slice it, the long lists always remind me of the kind of talent we have up here.

Nap (June 15, 2009)

Arkells is great!

chris_yk (June 15, 2009)

fuck is elliott brood awesome

robalobadob (June 17, 2009)

Fact.

Medley (June 15, 2009)

Great to see Timber Timbre make the list. If he wins I'll be very happy and ask him for money.
