Rome Romeo (ex-Fifth Hour Hero) to release debut

Rome Romeo, the new project from Geneviéve Tremblay and Olivier Maguire of Fifth Hour Hero, have announced their debut due out July 21, 2009.

The self-titled 12-inch/digital EP is due out via Machette Records.

The idea that dictatorship is a cnosequence of public schools and statism (?) in general is soooo scary.

is classic rock a genre or a time period? or is it some of both? If a classic rock artists puts out a new album now, is it still classic rock? If a brand new band makes an album that is very classic rock sounding, is it still classic rock?

could it become classic rock in say 30 years? And you don't think a new album by a classic, classic rock artist, still qualifies? At say a really meticulously categorized record store, the artists old albums would be in the classic rock section but the new ones wouldn't?

"classic rock" is kinda tricky. the local classic rock station has already added pearl jam, nirvana and the red hot chili peppers to their playlists which makes me feel really fucking old.

to me, "classic rock" will always be that late 60's thru early 80's area of bands/artists. artists that existed in those days can release new music now. but it would be new albums by classic rock artists.

yeah that's what started me wondering. the classic station here that the shipping guy listens to plays some early 90's stuff. no nirvana or pearl jam but say mary jane's last dance, that kind of thing.

yeah, the classic rock station here plays freefallin' and don't come around here no more.

also anything new by say, aerosmith, springsteen or ac/dc or whatever gets played.

so it's really more bands/artists from a particular time, ie late 60's thru the 70's.

no word on why grunge is getting lumped in with classic rock, other than some of those albums approaching the 20 year mark.
