In a review of the Uniondale, NY stop of the 2009 Warped Tour, the New York Times looked at the culture clash going on at the tour this year, particularly provoked by Brokencyde and Millionaires. The article noted:
2009 will be remembered as the year the Warped Tour transmogrified into a rave. Or at least enough of one to inspire plenty of dancing, as well as several raised middle fingers, hurled slurs and bottles chucked at stages by fans unaccustomed to hearing synthesizers in their metalcore, or rapping in their punk.

It was Millionaires, though - three female rappers whose committed, dim music suggests an anime porn soundtrack - that made people take a stand. Then there were the bottles, raining down at a furious clip. Brokencyde, which inspires worst-band-of-the-millennium diatribes on the Internet and seems to have been willed into existence largely to irk the punk faithful, or any genre faithful.
