Mock Orange to release "Live in Brooklyn"

Mock Orange plan to release Live in Brooklyn. As the name suggests, the disc will feature a live set recorded in Brooklyn, NY and the record is due out September 15, 2009. The recording was captured by Ken Heitmuller (Pernice Brothers) at Southpaw in during the tour that supported their latest album, Captain Love from 2008.

The record will feature material from Captain Love as well as Mind Is Not Brain and First EP and it was mixed by J. Robbins (The Promise Ring, Jets to Brazil) at Magpie Cage studios in Baltimore, Maryland. The band is also opting to give away a free downloadable copy of the live album to people who pick up their last studio album, Captain Love before September 15th.

I may have missed some discussion about it earlier in the week, but the new Set Your Goals is seriously sketchy. Coming from a pretty big fan of "Mutiny" I thought I really liked "The Fallen" until half of the rest of the album taints it. I see a big label tour with them and The Higher headlining. That would be the only band they could tour with that's worse than Four Year Strong.

Their new album is truly riding the fence of cheesy. Some of the songs on that album are just ridiculous. (the Fallen fucking rips though, I think its one of the best songs of the year).
Overall it really topped my expectations because I was not expecting much at all from them. I knew this was the path they were going to end up taking. I mean, after they were on "Punk Goes Crunk," what kind of expectations can you really have for a band?

God truly does hate me.
I begged my boss to work because I didnt think there was anything going on tonight and then as soon as I get to work the chick I dig winds up not going to a shitty metal show and wants to hang out, my one friend is going to a kegger, and my other friends parents magicailly went out of town for 2 days.

Nines and Sixes and The Record Play. The first sounds like 90's emo/indie but with some heavy punk influences and is pretty fast and catchy. The latter as described by scott heisel which I agree with, is like Braid/American Football/Jimmy Eat World.

Well, first of all, my grandmother died recently and the funeral was yesterday. I'm really fucking upset about it. Then today I realized I lost one of the earrings she gave me...my favorite ones too. Emerald and diamond. Then the guy I like called me and told me that while he's attracted to me he needs us to be just friends because he's in a relationship and doesn't want to lead me on. Then I went to an AJJ show and it fucking blew, and on the ride home my close friend let me know that he thought I was extremely bitter, pretentious, and needed to get over myself and let his friends chime in as well.

Ok, you asked for it so here I go again. I remember five years ago when a frequent poster went through the most depressing and horrendous situation I've ever heard about in my life. That really touched me and I still think about him pretty much every single day.

This ego-centric highschool, oh my lovelife sucks thing that's going on here these days really shouldn't touch people. There's people with real problems here. In fact, the main reason why I'm even here is to await the return of said poster, just seeing a post with his name will make my life.

Acris, family dying is hard, but take it as a reminder and make sure that you never, ever take your anyone in your family for granted. Sorry for your loss.

I was really disappointed by it, to be honest. First of all, AJJ just didn't play that well. Second, god, the crowd was so weird. There was a large portion of drunk bros who were being overly rough (and wrestling with each other?), like kids who see punk shows on tv and just assume that you're supposed to be a general asshat. Plus, a few kept on screaming the wrong lyrics at the wrong time, actually drowning out the band a few times. Another guy said, "I know the lyrics to the new songs because I downloaded the leak!" REALLY, GUY?

Uhhh also, asides from that, people were treating them like rockstars which was so weird. They were applauding them as they were walking out of the venue, fighting over their sweat towel when they threw it into the crowd, whistling at them, and I heard one girl freaking out because she got to touch Sean. I'm not very good at estimating how many people are in a crowd. The place was PACKED though. I was surprised at the bros too. I still don't get it.

anyone see the redscare tour yet? i went on wednsday, and each band was amazing. they all sounded super tight. there was no more than 15 kids there, so the bands all kinda just hung out and talked with everyone.

i'm working on transfering all my music onto data discs cause i smashed my computer screen and i recently found out i had a warrantee, so i get a new one for free, and i forgot about how much i loved no trigger's canyoneer. man, they need to put something else out soon, its been far too long.

I think Streetlight Manifesto should make a really slow and depressing album.
It would be fantastic.
And while some stuff on EGN is depressing, its far to upbeat.

Here's a first for ya orgers. I'm not sure if a question (or a topic) like this has been brought up here before or EVER:

I'm 21 years old and I can't get into alcohol (mostly the bitter ones) no matter how hard i try. I mean even light beers. How can someone get used to something that's bitter? I'm a soda guy and never can't get into anything that's less than sweet. The problem is I really want to get the appeal of it, and also, it's social benefits (but mostly the latter). A little advice? Thanks.

Drink Gin and Tonic with lime. Tastes like a stronger version of sprite if mixed properly. Take time to experiment with the correct ratios.

Also, if you like Coke type darker sodas, just drink a clear Rum with some Coke.

Don't go overboard on the Rum, and you will find that a Rum and Coke is a pretty innocuous cocktail.

Also, if the taste of cheap American beer seems to bug you, I would suggest staying away from those type of lagers.

Maybe try a beer like Shiner, Guinness, Blue Moon, Honey Brown, something of that nature.

(Beer snobs, I know that I just named some easily accessible faux-micro brewery beers, but I am just naming some beers that are probably readily available at this dudes supermarket)

I guess that bitter is a pretty subjective word here, but I would say in regards to American lagers, those four beers are nothing like that.

I suggest trying a Blue Moon with a slice of orange in it, or a Guinness Draught (the Stout will probably be too bitter for you).
