I hated LA... the people seriously sucked. The only things I really enjoyed were fish tacos and the ridiculous number of hot Mexican girls.

obviously not in plot, but just in terms of the action, probably using that "super slo-mo" max payne post-bullet-time effect that 300 had, etc.

looks like a fun rental tho. also, all the principals in this movie are korean. rain, rick yune, sung kang, etc.

you know they're gonna do that. it's too "in" of an action movie effect to not use.

i'm glad bullet-time pretty much ran its course though. it's especially painful to look at the parodies of bullet-time.

yeah, i doubt that'll happen. i just hope (and this probably won't happen) that this movie just might bring back the idea that bruce lee sorta brought to mainstream america in the late 60s'/early 70's....that asian dudes can be assertive, tough, not afraid to kick some ass, but (horrors!) are just generally normal dudes no different from any other race or ethnicity.

it's a term that brings mostly cringes whenever i hear it, but at least some kids are trying to shed that middle-american perception of asians as either socially-awkward asexual borderline-aspergers nerds with bowl cuts, or breakdancing wannabe thugs with baggy nylon pants who drive tricked-out hondas.

some asians just wanna listen to gunmoll :( is that so wrong??

I think Rain is really hot from the neck down. Nice trailer. I rarely watch chinese movies but the chinese original of The Departed (Infernal Affairs?) has got to be the best in recent years. Solid actors

High Noon Saloon gets a lot of good shows. Definitely hit up downtown, State St. area. Willy street has some cool bars/restaurants.
