No new Drag the River album until 2010 or 2011, says Jon Snodgrass

Although Drag the River is more or less back together, vocalist/guitarist Jon Snodgrass recently told the Denver/Boulder edition of AV Club not to expect a new record from the band until 2010 at the earliest, saying:

"We're [Snodgrass and co-conspirator Chad Price] just kind of working on some songs" ... "It'll be done when it's done, next year or the next one."

Drag The River's last proper full-length was 2008's You Can't Live This Way, while a rarities collection entitled Bad at Breaking Up was released earlier this year. Snodgrass has kept busy in the meantime, releasing his first solo record Visitor's Band earlier this year, and a split LP with Cory Branan via Suburban Home Records.

I know I've been bitching about these for years, but its just gotten stale and unoriginal.

1. Buddyhead did it first - like 6 years ago, and half of you are just catching on.

2. They almost never make any sense ("skinny kids who wear ironic t-shirts and live in Brooklyn" actually probably couldn't give a shit about the new Fall Out Boy record)

3. Fucking shit. I'm in a shitty mood this week. When you work from home that happens sometimes.

4. Buddyhead's best one that I can remember was for Hellfest "Kids who wear camo shorts and have hockey pucks in their ears are stoked."

Yeah, I was just talking to an older punk lady this weekend (she has an 18 year old kid, for reference) and was telling me all about the violence and gangs and craziness. Honestly, I don't know how much fun I would have had in high school if it had been so violent.

On the other hand, she told me about she saw in Ventura with DRI and Anthrax opening for the Descendents, which kinda blows my mind.

I'm not trying to be different dude, Josh Homme is my 2nd favorite musician of all time, and Dave Grohl ain't too far behind. And like I said, I have no problem debating music, I'm all for it. Just don't tell me to go find another website. That was what I had a problem with.

IMO (as Blackjaw_ likes to say):

- Led Zeppelin are rock gods. Nothing can take away from the quality of music they put out, and whether you like it or not, at that time in music, it was pretty revolutionary.
- Same goes with Pink Floyd.
- I don't listen to "mainstream rock". Nickelback is by far the worst band on the face of the earth. If you think QOTSA is mainstream, then by your definition, most of the bands covered on here are too.
- I'm not asking people to agree with me, I was just observing. Don't take everything so personally. Man, you guys are so

I didn't say you said it, but people above you did. And this is exactly what I mean. Because I don't listen to/like everything that everyone else does, you automatically assume that I'm trying to set myself apart. That's just stupid. It's not like the bands I listen to don't get covered here. Look at my top albums, they're all obviously on the site. The tour I've been most excited about in years was posted yesterday. Everyday there's at least 3 or 4 bands that I really enjoy being covered in the news section. I'm just being myself. If anything, it sounds like a lot of you are scared to branch out into "non-punx territory" because you don't want to be bitched out yourselves. I don't mean you necessarily, I just think there's a huge elitist movement going on here.
