the only time i've been there was for the HWM reunion last year. that place is huge and i can't imagine going there except for a really special occasion (like a HWM reunion)
huh? weird question. probably. i was hammered (i skipped PIB and Thursday to see D4 and The Circle Jerks earlier in the night and cabbed it up there), with a group of about 10 people including my fiancee so I didn't notice if there were girls or not.
That was a good weekend for shows. The HWM/Thursday/PIB show, the F-Yeah tour w/ D4, PIB, Circle Jerks, Matt & Kim, Monotonix, Japanther and Team Robosphere...and there was another show I went too...can't remember.
I'll see you there. Still pissed that I gotta go back there, I've been there twice and both times swore to never return. I'd see Gaslight even if they played in a dumpster though.
ha. i saw them basically in a dumpster in brooklyn a couple years ago. shows that big just aren't fun for me. even webster hall is too big of a place for shows. irving plaza and bowery still have a somewhat intimate feel.
Oh where'd you see em in Brooklyn? And yeah, irving and bowery are still great.. along with music hall of williamsburg, my 3 fave venues in nyc. Saw my first few shows at irving though so that could be part of my love for it
Worst in NYC? I've only been to Terminal 5 once (HWM reunion), but I liked it better than the similar sized Roseland Ballroom. Granted, both are huge, in the 3000 capacity range, but Roseland is like a damn airport hanger, at least T5 had multiple floors (that were actually accessible) and a raised areas in the back so it didn't feel like a long narrow tunnel with the back a mile from the stage like at Roseland. If someone that big that I want to see is playing, I'd rather go to T5 than to Roseland.
I used to think Hollywood Undead was one of the worst bands of today. Then, I listened to one of their songs and at that point, I knew they are one of the worst bands now.
its funny. i was buddies with one of the dude's in 3oh!3 in college and he was basically really into shit like atmosphere or eydea type stuff. weird that he went on to make such ridiculous music.
Hmmm go to Milwaukee and get Frank Turner and pay for gas or wait for the awful House of Blues and end up paying as much for anything there as I would to drive to WI and miss Frank Turner...decisions decisions.
i'll be at the milwaukee show. taking my girlfriend as her birthday present. i really love all the bands so i win on both sides of the coin...easy b-day present and get to goto an awesome show.
wuh wuh wuh wuh? you sir are indeed crazy. 930 is no fun at all. i'm still on the fence about this show, but i have some time to decide unless it sells out a month ahead of time.
i guess i really really hate 930s layout, and i'm not too big on the sound there either. black cat i like that i can see what's going on but it's also low ceiling and a bit more intimate (and it also helps that i've seen a million great bands there). i guess i've never been bothered by the "regulars" places i've went, and am kind of confused why everyone is so irked on them. but hey it's your call.
There'll only be about 10 people there because the shows start at like 5 o'clock so they can be over by 9:15, so I guess it won't be all that different from a normal show.
Just got my tickets in the mail for this. If anyone is buying through Live Nation I highly reccomend doing so on a Wednesday when they have a "no service fee" sale. I paid $60 for 4 tickets as opposed to the $102 it would have been on a normal sale.
"The new Pee Wee Herman show will be at the Music Box in Hollywood on November 8-19 - and Paul Reubens will star alongside Pee-wee regulars Miss Yvonne, Mailman Mike, Cowboy Curtis, and Jambi the Genie."
Will Laurence Fishburne be reprising his role as Cowboy Curtis?
Like I said, What about Montreal?
It's like the best city in North America!
What about Ottawa, I live in that damned city, you should come and see how crappy it is!
