Murder City Devils announce two more shows

In addition to their previously announced appearance at this year's Riot Fest in Chicago, Murder City Devils have announced two more shows on their latest reunion tour. The band will be performing at The Mohawk in Austin, TX on October 10 and at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN on October 11.

Sub Pop Records reissued the band's entire back catalogue on vinyl earlier this year.

Funny how Austin gets these guys twice in two years.... what the fuck?

Last time I saw The Devils in Austin was @ Emo's with Botch and American Steel....
But then I don't feel so bad for catching them earlier this year in SF

That's a pretty killer line up.
They always brought out great bands. That has not been the case with the reunion.

I'm pretty sure I saw them with Grade AND American Steel. Or it may have been Thursday and AS. Definitely saw Grade and Thursday as direct support at different times.

american steel could have opened that show as well, honestly it was so long ago and i remember being so excited for the other 3 bands, none of whom have played detroit since, that i probably forgot if there was an opener or not.

i do for some reason remember that there was as show in the shelter than night that ended up being canceled and the turds from student rick were passing out sampler cds to the crowd since they ended up without a show

On another note, I wonder how the fuck they are going to pull off Austin and then off to Minneapolis overnight....
it will probably be an early show in Austin

you wouldn't even need to get there that early would you? It can't be more than 4 hours. Hell couldn't you leave at noon and still make it? I mean, hell.

You need to allow for delays. I'm guessing the flight is around 4-5 but I've never actually done it.

It's gotten mixed reviews so far, whatever that means. Still want to see it.

The reviews I've read have been mostly positive. Metacritic gave it a 69, which is pretty good for that site/system. District 9 got an 81 though, I'm just as excited for that.

this is my favorite factoid regarding the original:

The American success of the blaxploitation genre led distributors to reedit this film and distribute it as G.I. Bro—in that version, scenes have been cut as to make Fred Williamson the lead character. The tagline on this version was "If you're a kraut, he'll take you out!"

Speaking of Sub Pop, the new No Age EP is pretty disappointing outside of the last song. I don't like the calmer, more refined sound they're going for.

I posted a little bit about it in the org summit, but it's good, it's classic Tarantino style film. A lot of people might complain because there's not quite as much action in it as the previews make it seem like. But it's based mostly out of build-up dialogue to raise the suspense for the action scenes. It's definitely worth seeing though. The music is tremendous and the acting is fantastic.

I wouldn't expect a lot of action from a Tarantino movie, unless it's a Kill Bill type thing, and even Vol. 2 barely had any action. I can already tell I'm going to like it though, it seems like it will be something akin to Hogan's Heroes on steroids. Also, he was on Kimmel last night, and his story about his pre-production meeting with Pitt at Brangelina's vineyard in France was great.

Fuck the org summit, this place is a cemetery now.

I hate watching preseason, it just gives you false emotions, since the outcome and performances never seem to matter anyway, and it only gives more opportunities for season ending injuries. Yay!

Yeah I'm not a fan of watching the preseason either, it's not as engaging because the games really don't matter
but as a Viking fan, it's a pretty big event to see Favre playing in a Viking uniform for the first time, even if it is just the preseason
