Weird, but pretty good tour. Afterwards, they do a 180 and have dates with The National Lights.

My buddy Gabe said he saw a show that was Old Dirty Bastard and Dillinger Escape Plan years ago.

Reminds me a lot of that Mastodon / Against Me! / Cursive tour back in 2007. Weird lineup, but it would be worth checking out, even if Dillinger Escape Plan hasn't been as great as they were six years ago.

Whoa. That's some wacky kinda line-up there. depending on the price, I'll probably hit up the Middle East show for Fake Problems, and maybe stick around for DEP. I loved "Calculating Infinity" and the "Irony is a Dead Scene" EP.

I live about a block away from Chubby Rain in Poplar Grove and yeah there is nothing here. Chubby Rain is a sweet venue and Thrice will be playing there in November.

Dillinger Escape Plan had one of the best live shows I've ever seen. This was about 5 years ago, but it was insane. I need to see them again. This tour should swing through TX.

They were both produced by Steve Evetts...that could be it. I enjoy all of DEP's stuff, but I've never paid too much attention to the lyrics. I guess I just assumed they would make about as much sense as their actual music.

ah that makes sense. as for the lyrics, maybe it's best to not pay attention... i think i remember a point on miss machine where he is screaming "love kills" over and over ... that is horseshit, sing about space aliens or something, but music that complex doesn't need to be soundtrack for a 7th grade girl's notebook. of course maybe i wasn't paying ENOUGH attention and there is in fact some interesting poetry in there.

You can feel however you want about the lyrics, in the end they are just unconventional, much like the rest of the music.
