Another Breath joins Panic Records

Panic Records has signed Syracuse, NY hardcore act Another Breath. The label will release the band's next full-length, The God Complex sometime this fall on CD and LP. Two songs from the record, "Belly of a Whale" and "Nausea", can be heard at the band's MySpace page.

The God Complex will follow up Mill City, released in 2006.

2. I'm a bitter asshole and as far as I'm concerned, if you think Polar Bear Club is boring, you probably have the intellect of a twig and are oblivious to anything musical. That's just my opinion on people.

Baseball is on. So I'm not gonna really pay much attention to a comment about a boring band. I zoned out half way through, my bad.

Do you like Faded Grey? The interview with the dude from the Bomb reminded me of them, and I bet you'd like them as much as me. See, I'm no twig.

We can be bitter assholes together if you want. Maybe we can compromise and listen to Pulling Teeth or Silent Majority. I like them too.

Honestly, I don't give most melodic hardcore that is compared to 90's emo a chance. Maybe I am just a judgmental asshole. I did give The Redder the Better a couple listens, and everything about it just bored me. The HWM-esque vocals, angular riffs, (I still don't know what angular means) and typical melodic punk influences just don't do it. The heavier parts are alright... I guess I'm just the typical 80s hardcore elitist dude. At some point my hardcore needs to pick up the pace and turn it up to 11 like DRI or Toxic Reasons did.

I knew you liked Pulling Teeth and Silent Majority. That's how I sucked you in. But I am super stoked that you like Faded Grey. If they play another reunion show you have an open invitation to come out and mosh Vegas with me.

I basically love everything compared to 90s emo. I like 80s hardcore but I am not a fan of revivalists, I think it's very boring... there are some exceptions, social circkle, coke bust, etc, but eh.... I don't consider PBC melodic hardcore. I love everything they've done but I wish they would go back and do something a bit on the heavier post hardcore side and more technicality. Faded Grey is melodic hardcore with 90s emo though...

i might have to take you up on that offer.

I don't know, man, to me Faded Grey rocked the Gorilla Biscuits, Dag Nasty, or 7 Seconds stylee. Maybe it's just selective memory since I saw 'em in my teens, but there was no emoish shit hitting my ears.

Strike Anywhere is headlining.

They had like, a half hour set. They only played three songs (Living Saints, Boxes, and some other tune) off Chasing Hamburg.

Half hour set? That sucks, I really hope they play light of local eyes off of Chasing Hamburg. Well atleast I can leave after they play, I don't care for Strike Anywhere anymore. They played ok last time I saw them, years ago, but I don't think it's worth staying around and missing sleep over.

Sounds great thinks alot, they closed with Most Miserable life last time and it was awesome. His Devotee is one they didn't play last time and I was hoping on it. Needs To the Engravers, but oh well Light of local eyes!!

I know... some demo tunes would be awesome (preferably adam o in my case). Some sets They're going to play three new songs; Overdefined told me they played drifting thing.

I'm guessing they signed to Panic because Rivalry Records is dead. I saw that Rivalry updated their site after a long hiatus and are releasing a new album, but why was there no Rivalry Records showcase? I was really looking forward to buying last year's DVD.

Help I have a question?

I try my best to avoid going to major venues, aka ticketmaster/live nations/clear channel( if that still around)venues. How much of a differences am I making? How can bands continue to play these type of venues with the monopoly ticketmaster/live nations have on the music industry? How can bands on indie labels still play these major venues? Don't they care about their fans? Is their anyway around this? Should we get bands to stop playing these types of venues and how do we do this?

I ask this question because recently I have missed some really good bands playing because I truly believe in attending diy shows. I always ask myself what would Fugazi do in the year 2009 if they got back together. WWFD

Maybe you should listen to new bands that don't play at such venues. You must ask yourself what bands did you watch at said venues? I'm sure that isn't a clear response but I hate the bigger venues also. Cost too much and the security is the worst part. I was going to go see Thrice and Brand New at a bigger venue, but changed my mind.

Well ok after a little bit more thought, not much. Which would you prefer, showing up to a venue to find out it's full already because the venue is small or showing up and getting in to the show? Some bands just have a bigger fan base than others and I'm not much into buying tickets ahead of time unless I feel like I have to.

What is your idea of a "major venue." In my area, bands like Trapped Under Ice have played basements, churches, and places like Sonar (a real club like place).

Should we get bands to stop playing these types of venues and how do we do this?

The band isn't your propety.

There's no answer to this; either you swallow your dignity, or just accept how it's going. Protesting doesn't mean they're going to listen, you're trying, but you are making a sacrifice.

My idea of a major venue is a ticketmaster/live nations venue and place where they charge ridiculous prices and a place that has security make you see your favorite bands 25 feet away. How much of a different am I truely making tho?

Shit is so intense. It's passionate and articulate, furious but not without melody, like most good hardcore.
