It's sad that kids would have to be exposed to The Clash through these asshats.
Also sad for kids to be exposed to Jawbreaker by hearing Fall Out Boy.

If it leads to some kid actually learning and appreciating other music I almost want to give it a pass, but for every one of those kids, there's a hundred that says 'I liked Anti-Flag's version better'.

in 1994 i was 11 years old. i bought "Dookie" not even from hearing a song on the radio, but because everybody else i knew owned it. one day my friends older sister heard us listening to it and she played us a bad religion. i went and bought "recipe for hate" like two weeks later on cassette (i know your feelings on that record, btw). sometimes it takes that same type of introduction.

i learned about johnny cash from social distortion. i learned about agent orange from lagwagon covering "everything turns grey" and i learned about the circle jerks from seeing Keith Morris sing "live fast/die young" with Pennywise in 97 or 98.

I'm pretty sure they are not the originators of noise rock so your blame is kind of misdirected. They are probably one of the most interesting and less irritating bands of that scene and worth checking out. new album sounds like psychedelic slayer.

Blitzkrieg Bop would've worked as well - but 'Bonzo' is one of my favorites as I tend to like their "newer", poppier stuff more than the the first couple albums (sue me).

The Clash understood what the were and weren't spewing militant dictum onstage. AF is screaming anarchy while charging you 20 for a shirt. That's WAY more sell-outy in my book.

It's a nice thought, but they'll be doing the same they always do. Sit around trafalgar square, Camden and Soho, drinking Special Brew and charging tourists for pictures.

Misus the youre 14 thing, that is basically all those fucktards say for stage banter.
