Riverdales to release new album on Recess

Ben Weasel has posted an update on plans for the next album from Riverdales. According to his blog:

We're doing our final demos next week and recording the album in December for Recess Records. We'll be heading down the home stretch on the mix by the time of the 1/23 show so we'll probably play a couple of the new tunes.

As reported earlier, Dan Vapid has resumed bass duties and Simon Lamb is now a full fledged member of the band and second guitarist.

Not gonna lie, I kinda dug Invasion U.S.A. It's not going on my year-end list, but I definitely gave it quite a few spins.

That's the problem. I played it through at least a dozen times. Nothing took hold so it went in the pile never to return again. If I want to hear them it won't be through that record.

It was like the Lillingtons ran into The Riverdales on a dark street corner for a brawl and nobody lived.

i heard there was a falling out between mike and ben which is why invasion usa and the ben weasel lp aren't gonna be repressed by the label when they are sold out.

Other than for "Heart Out Of Season," which is a great Dan song, I thought Invasion USA was a pretty damn boring album.
