Im not exactly sold on Acta. Sure, he did poorly in Washington with a terrible team. But that terrible team had a better record last season AFTER he left.

I like Acta. I think he got a raw deal with the Nats. I think he would've been a better fit with the Astros than the Indians, but whatever. I like him.

The CC Sabathia trade made sense. CC would never have resigned with the Indians, and he only had a few months left on contract, and the team wasn't going anywhere. We got some good prospects for that.

Victor Martinez's knees will only handle catching for a year or two, at which point he will switch to 1B. While he is a great hitting catcher, he is merely an average hitting first basement (due to so many power hitting 1B available). Seeing that we have the hottest catching prospect in baseball in our system (Carlos Santana, who we stole from LA for Casey Blake) and Matt Laporta coming in at 1B, Vmart was done here. Which is sad, because he is a class act and bleeds Cleveland. He cried when we traded him.

Cliff Lee makes no sense. Here's one of the best pitchers in baseball, who said he wants to spend the rest of his career here, with a year left

The Lee trade was ridiculous.

The Tribe throughout the last 10-15 years has had a problem trading away talent and getting nothing in return. They've also let guy go to free agency. Instead of letting the championship team go they should have started peppering in new talent to the tune of one or two players a year and keep the vets there. That surrounds the rookies with veteran players they can look up to and play around. The organization doesn't get that and they always want to rebuild.

On the plus side, the Tribe did announce they are going to be more aggressive with bringing up younger talent to the majors instead of keeping the guys down in the minors for so long. Also, Sandy Alomar is coming back to coach. There is a

Laporta will be a bust though. I'm willing to be Andy Marte (another bust) will be playing 1B most of the season in 2010.

Fausto has stated one of the reasons he did so poorly last year was because Luis Issac was gone.

Add in he has no confidence, and his hip is still kinda messed up. What I would give for 2007 Fausto. His sinker back then, my god. Thing was nasty.

agreed. i would be happy if Fausto had another 2007 year for the next season. if he would of won one more game against the red sox in the playoffs, we would of went to the world series and break that ever so longing curse. come to thing of it.... .. .. they would probably trade him off to another team as soon as he gets hot on the mound just like CC and LEE.
