Bad Religion have announced some spring tour dates around California and Nevada, a few weeks before they plan the enter the studio to record their fifteenth full-length and follow-up to 2007's New Maps of Hell.

I don't think so. Greg is teaching at UCLA spring semester so they can't go too far. Plus these shows will be themed setlists where each night will feature a different era of their career. One of which includes most of how could hell be any worse, i'd kill to be at that show.

I really hate when they do this ten-shows-in-LA]] and Vegas shit, and no San Francisco. Then, later this year, when they do come through SF, it's only one day that sells out instantly

after my recent trip to californa, i've come to the conclusion that LA is so much better than Frisco this tour actually makes sense. sure we spent less than 24 hours in the greater bay area, and about 5 days in the LA area, but it seemed like enough to judge. also, bakersfield is awesome, despite what mike ness says.

Gnarly Yeah I am from Bakersfield.., but now reside in San Diego. It is too legite here not to visit when in Socal. The best Mexican Food, The fresh beaches, and we get big shows in every genre on the REG.... ASHLEY SCHAFFER BMW... just watched eastbound and down So Good...

so would someone explain to an european what the fuck is up with the million venues all called house of blues everywhere in the us? the booking agency has its own venues or what? this is like the millionth time i noticed but... well, if you ask, you're stupid for five minutes, if you don't, you're stupid forever i guess

It's simple really. You know Ghostbusters? Well the guy from Ghostbusters decided that he like blues so much he'd start his own venue for mostly aged punk rockers to play at, and, created a Planet Hollywood-like franchise that would be overpriced in tickets and drinks.

i've only been to the one in Hollywood - it's not a great place to see shows, but it's really aesthetically cool - as in it's cool to look at and cool to see shows that you don't care about a barrier and stuff like that. i saw Eagles of Death Metal and Turbonegro there in maybe 2003 and it was pretty rad.

i'm not sure what the deal is with who owns it - one is on Disneyland property in Orange County, probably the same thing with the ones in Florida.

The site lines and sound are great at most of the HOBs. The staff and pricing is questionable, but where isn't it?
Did you see Turbonegro and Queens of the Stone Age there maybe?
Dan Akroyd was one of the founders (the original was in Mass) along with a group of people. It's owned by Live Nation now.

no it was EODM. right after Nick left QOTSA Turbonegro was in town and did 2 nights. The first was with Mondo Generator (Nick's band) and the secod was with EODM.

the only time I ever saw Queens of the Stone age it was with Trail of Dead and I don't remember where exactly it was.

It's not that much different than the Fillmore either(even though the original in SF) which is trying to be emulated into what the "New" House Of Blues. Same Capacity, same shitty security, same overpriced drinks and tickets, just different venue.

one of the advantages of living in a big, "hip" city is that you get every band in the world coming through. the disadvantage is that you get the bigger, more corporate venues to see them at.

You guys are quick to forget that greg teaches spring semester so it's pretty fortunate they are playing any shows at all. Wish I lived out there so I could catch some of these "themed" sets they will be playing. And I can't wait for the new album.
