We're thrilled today to shine the spotlight back onto Winnipeg, Manitoba singer-songwriter Greg MacPherson. We've streaming his new Smallman Records full length, Mr. Invitation, The record, Greg's first since 2005's G7 released Night Flares, features contributions from Jason Tait of The Weakerthans and Ryan Ahoff of speed-metal act Annihilator.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It is a little slower than my liking but I will have to "buy" the songs First Class and Big Skies.. his voice sounds a little like Fallon's from Gaslight Anthem, which I guess isn't a bad thing..

This record is amazing. The last song "visitor" competes with "california" off of his album night flares for best song ever.

Well...maybe i am not qualified to rate a song as best song ever but they certainly are my two favorite songs and he is in a tie with Small Arms Dealer as my favorite band/artist.

My girlfriend and I were at his cd release show here in Winnipeg a couple weeks ago. He played for the better part of two hours. If he's coming anyhwere near you I'd recommend checking out his show - dude can sing like no one else can.
